if these are happening in Britain, i shudder to think what might the case in countries with huge disparities like India. Crony capitalism, nepotism and concentration of power with few sections has all the remnance of feudalism. I am quite certain that they can with ease snoop into common people's conversation at will. Yes freedom of expression is important but the context in which media works as also the realities of the society makes aspiration and dignity of common people paramount, their privacy is not a matter of profit or boardroom haggling.
