Into an ever purifying world let the ego sink

I was listening to a lecture presentation by Baldev Raj, a prominent nuclear scientist; he is the former director of Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research, Kalapakkam and now serves as the Director of the National Institute of Advanced Studies, Bangalore.  His talk focussed on renewable energy and so on. One thing that really struck me was his mention of space technology having achieved so much while we even lack basic technological advance in Renewable energy, taking the instance that India imports every part of Wind turbine. I found that admission astounding. Juxtaposing this with antics of space scientists led to a revelation. It need to be put into the context of the social reality of this society, the insight is significant. What is scientific achievement and how does it matter to whom?

It is becoming clear that money is being pumped for the sake of assuaging egos and showcase one’s superior bearing in international forums. It is known fact that most of Indian scientific/technological strides in Space and Nuclear were possible because of active help and support from Soviets/Russians. Indians were mostly replicators, and yes searching for cheaper substitutes. Indian scientists don’t seem to match up to the rigour and calibre. A society that lacks any scientific temper or understanding/connection with surrounding it is no surprise. The foundation from which these so called scientists/technologists emerge matters of rational and logic is peripheral thought the ordained soul’s entitled world search for providence and blessings. Some call it technology demonstrators but this blogger asks what was the need for Mars mission? There is no achievement here, just replication that, if provided sufficient money and knowhow, even the aboriginals in Papua New Guinea can perform with much ease. Incidentally PNG is one region that has amazing level of diversity, and yes it is not the kind of primitive conception that Indians celebrate there is a genuine diversity here and some amazing people. If they were the size of India they would easily represent all that is beautiful in the world to cherish.

It is characteristic nature of those posturing intellectuals of this primitive society to take higher and rarefied moral grounds on all that is happening around the world, it is a constant strive towards mahatamahood that they bestow on each other and showcase as apostle of peace in what is essentially violent crude society which they so enigmatically pamper. I guess in all fairness to apologists like Shiv the question of forgiveness doesn’t even arise when the misery is on going and one is an active participant, so either you stamp it if not morph it, use cleverness to redefine words like community, syncretism, tolerance and grand illusion of unity in diversity that the world is suitably awestruck. The fellow even carries the same mainstream squatter hallucination of hindus as “Kashmiri pandits”. Well done fellow, should give him brownie points on sickularism. Meanwhile nobody is going to ask mediocre Indian elite “What would you have done?” since we know what they can do: Manipulate. Piggyback riding mahatamas and pundits they ransacked the unsuspecting world dripping in conscience and signs of compassion. It’s an amazing chicanery and characteristic humbleness of being to be able to pull this one off firmly entrenched in crudest of world.

 India’s souls reside in great saints and spiritual beings who firmly negated squatter’s primitive conceptions. In the last few decades many charlatans have emerged hinged tightly to squatter’s while trying to usurp the great spiritual traditions. Sri Sri’s penchant for hundreds of musicians, the numbers, is not at all baffling. The so called spiritual leader is bewildered “why only one sitar player why not hundreds?!! Let’s have a celebration!!”. Yes you can celebrate but if connected to music then that is not how you propose to listen or celebrate. This is in the garb of music and celebration arrogance and exhibition of power. The super ego that is natural for a squatter ensconced guru. If he knows anything about music he will get it from that one string of baul singer that an enlightened Tagore could fathom.  

It is also telling that lack of any connection to life and myriad life forms makes them immune to realities of environment. Afterall when people paid obeisance to life giver tree/river/natural forces the cunning created a structure around it and then prescribed rituals, cordoned off and created a business of misery as they pushed out the Nature from the equation except maybe parroting shlokas as compensation that nobody cares but are ready to quote to showcase their high bearing. It is the same mindset Sri Sri of the world exhibit: the affliction to bigger and grander, the inflated ego that doesn’t even understand basic subtleties of life. What looks like barren river bank does hold myriad life that is threatened by human encroachment and that river has a system that actively includes its surrounding in an intricate web. In the competitive world of gurus and corporates these sublime ways are sought to be lost in arguments and perceptions.  It is the same muck that enthuse scoundrels to compete on massive and bigger firecracker to showcase competitions as part of temple festivals. With amazing crude values that has no respect for any lifeforms, humans beings figure much low in scale. Primitive traditions are now our right as democracy. Does this crude society even understand what it is to be living a responsible life in a free world? No it doesn’t. They are such habit driven insecure acquisitive lives that meanwhile seeks death as redemption. What kind of people are these?  

It is into this mucky water the depraved clever try to showcase their entitled worldviews to the world (West being a specific target) and attempt cement their evolved claims. So a squatter blessing a muslim woman is seen as flagpost of religious harmony. For Kasthuri&Sons these are eyewatering instances of tolerance that their depraved world so acutely cares. That humans are being divided into religions and fancy dress to accompany the division is not the matter, as we collectively decided (with mullah feeding enthusiasm) that religion can be the only and paramount identity, anything else is not worthwhile in the schemes of things indeed wasteful ways. Therefore the woman bending to squatter’s sacred whatever (which ofcourse only he has access to) is an insult on the idea of Islam. These kinds of practices are not representing syncretic ways on the contrary these are crudest practices that is being sought to be mainstreamed and celebrated in the name of religion. They should be curtailed by those who understand the evolved meaning of religion and what it represents. And yes gender issues should not be allowed to hijack the fact that elite section is depraved lot, women included. When Nirbhaya happened, I pointed out in class that these cases of sexual violence happen all the time to Dalit women and are never paid the kind of attention that Nirbhaya received. I referred the case of the young Dalit woman who was raped and killed in Jind, Haryana. The whole class and the professor began disagreeing with me vehemently, arguing that rape is a “gender issue” not a “caste issue”. I thought to myself that this was the rotten level of understanding in a Women’s Studies program. Being women did not mean much when they could not even empathise with the vulnerabilities of a Dalit woman who had succumbed to severe violence”.  

  How much havoc and misery depraved Indian elite have given to people is common knowledge and that these deviant ways have severely intruded into their innocent world into their very being that make them caste zombies. So more the hapless people express their faith more they seem to get trapped. It’s like an animal in a snare more it tries more it gets enmeshed. And cruder it gets. It becomes part of their attitude, psyche and being, the damage done is immense. While the depraved elite, benefiting from the misery, gets down to packaging as sickularism/tolerance and all that West find attractive, indeed tap dance to the requirements, creating illusion of wonderful peaceful world. So while squatter ensconced scientist –who haven’t ever dealt scientific temper or the mindset that comes with it, takes us to heights of achievements, that ofcourse finds nothing new (Indians have no business to be dealing with neutrinos or gravitational waves, this society doesn’t have the right for such esoteric indulgences. What is needed is impetus on crying essentials that needs serious technological input) but assuage their egos and establish as specially entitled souls and blessed beings (aka Ramanujam…poor fellow I feel sorry for him, any other society he would have done wonderfully well. Inhere it messed up his mind and was almost wasted thankfully before he was cannibalised he could contact West, a bit could be salvaged) while the so called intellectuals take it to another level of purity as they seek to provide humanitarian standards and values to killers and criminals. It is amazing detachment to social realities while trying to hook up and showcase to the world as kindred souls. In the most violent sort of society, that even targets the soul of individual through faith, the squatter ensconced is so eloquently preaching such higher human values makes the depravity furthermore astounding.

The ground is slipping all the while for 18% of world’s population squeezed in 2.4% of land –that in itself should be seen as a crime on humanity, like sacrificial lamb they swagger with consummate self-worth. Surely with more automations and technological innovations (which ofcourse cannot be expected from this mediocre bunch, enmeshed as they are in their own depraved ways and entrenched crude bearings) the nuanced world will need less of humans, who can use their mind innovatively that which AI or intelligent machines cannot accomplish. So to start with the world is getting smarter and leaner, and yes evolved societies and responsible people are limiting their populations and reducing their footprint, that leaves Indian demographic dividend scrounging the dustbin. Not at all undesirable scenario, true value cannot be manipulated by perceptions nor can it alter the objective realities that knock the door. Indians are the worst of the lot is becoming amply clear, fig leaf of low capita emission will not diminish the celebratory regressiveness that degrade the delicate ways of life. Cannibalism is inbuilt nature of this society that will keep gnawing all that is precious in the world.

Well Indian leftist don’t measure up to it, these are small time elitist manipulators (except some in Kerala) with dexterity of tongue, and in the Indian context the only groups that really are sensitive can but become violent to face the machiavellian leaders and ruthless State force. The Naxals are probably the one who understand the brutal nature of social reality, the uniquely primitive world that Indians inhabit, and the State nexus with exploitative corporate to uproot the marginalised for their gargantuan greed in the name of national development. Statistics will confirm that while diggers became billionaires (even settling abroad, all for nationalistic cause surely) people rot lacking even basic amenity. Gandhian market media with a sickular vocal cord are known to be on the chaipani list of these earth mowing misery spreading billionaires. Indian security force personnel who get killed in Naxal areas are martyrs of the gross mistakes of insular people at the helm of affair, and they are the same unfortunate section that always braves the brunt of violent realities, whether at the border, or in jungles or farmers. This has been happening with much impunity for last decades in the garb of peace loving ever purifying nonviolence. You rarely see Iyerjis in dying as security personnels or suiciding farmers but these machiavellians can be seen with their big mouth and long diarrheic views everywhere espousing ever purifying humanitarian values and ever ready kriyakaram for universal peace. The lopsided development indicators and the extremely distressing social indices are testaments to the intent.    

Indian Communists, based in comforts of Delhi and putrid pits of Kolkata, are disgrace and should not be allowed anywhere near the power in all earnest. They have really used the misery indicators of common people to work on their social status. In this primitive world less money doesn’t matter if status is intact (indeed career is meant for money from wherever doing whatever and ultimately to enhance status) the reason some may look and live quite a simple life but disgrace nevertheless, there was one fellow who even went about half naked, ostensibly to connect with common people meanwhile kept primitive squatter pit intact and crude conscience keepers all along with supremely charming attributes that since have become role models and conscience enhancers. They thought they saw mahatma, and since been clinging to this with ever increasing gusto. Even great compassionate souls like Guru Nanakji never thought to be a Mahatma, nor is referred to as. These things don’t come cheap. Meanwhile I want to ask the Sikhs who visit Haridwar, on what basis they participate in water related rituals? Why can’t they see and respect water/river for what it is, as compassionate souls like Nanakji could and indeed asserted, rather than taking it just as a mean for their personal aggrandisements in the name of god, and leave the river filthy and people degraded. This kind of tolerant amalgamation is mortifying. Guru Granth Sahib is one of the most evolved texts please don’t degrade it. I like to go to temple towns because it is always vibrantly crazy and you could see the remnants (indeed the ‘spirit’ to some extend) of what the vicious nature of squatter couldn’t subjugate. It is that I seek. In the last seven decades as they consolidate power in the garb of democracy this syncretic culture is what is being destroyed. Mukherjeeji is the latest automated fossil in this game. In a stricter understanding of nationalism, the fellow could easily be classified as anti-national for the kind of money wasted and misuse of State machinery for his private degraded pleasures. Since we love discussing in binaries, not endowed with social intelligence or contexts, how about comparing the money spent on Mukherjeeji’s temple hopping and amount of money for which farmers suicide. It is a compelling comparison that squatter ensconced market driven media will not dare. It will disturb the applecart. Indeed BJP is nothing but an extended version of Congress, that has been pupating all the time in the heart and big bellies of most Congress leaders.  Kanhaiya Kumar (JNU student’s union president arrested under draconian sedition charges, that indeed was preserved by Congress retainers. Now it emerges that the videos were doctored) is amazingly prescient to social issues and realities –that indeed many in JNU are exposed to with the knowledge driven inquisitive ecosystem and acute awareness of constant threat of exploitative market, and his (as well as other JNU students) concerns are quite grounded. These cannot be tutored and has strong element of awareness. JNU is sought to be tarnished but this blogger asserts that it is like an oasis of understanding in what is necessarily an uncouth material driven philistine city. Though I must admit that issues raised by contemporary JNU students are in pleasant contrast to almost two decades back when elitism was in fore, during college elections outsiders were active with issues that had nothing to do with social realities of this nation or the campus. I distinctly recall Suhasini Ali ranting about Palestine that I, stuck in the drudgery of Karolbagh, found disgraceful and insensitive opportunism. First, no political leaders should be allowed in the campus. There should be strict rules on these matters. Secondly, likes of Ms. Ali is a regret, carrying as she is, a surname that surely is an insult on gender understanding though the left driven mullah pointer compulsion is understood (it is also not shocking that she nurtures herself in the company of market manipulating CrudeWoman). Nothing is personal when the ramifications are social, and yes when part of identity is that we are forced to acknowledge. A spectre of disgust against hedonist comrade rise!! And yes Mr. Kumar should be careful of the likes of Yechuries who are conniving to use him for elections. To start with he should ask the question why was the former JNU student’s union president kicked out from the party for taking a stand against supporting Mukherjeeji for President’s post? What is so compelling about Mukherjeeji that comrades in Bengal and fetid elite in Delhi are besotted to if not camaraderie? Mukherjeeji’s role during Emergency was not very positive (indeed it is shocking that not a single leader was punished for these wanton killing and untold misery, nor supine EC or SC debarred or arrested these leaders. Surely many were fit case for ‘rarest of rare’. The progenies of media who ‘scrawled when asked to bend’ rule the roost now and inherit these underhand dealings and unethical nudges). Mukherjeeji may, with his characteristic cleverness, blame it on SS Ray (it is ridiculous to suggest that all powerful Indira Gandhi was taken in by a lone leader, also what about the aftermath?) he also makes valiant effort to protect Indira Gandhi (as part of duty ofcourse) who indeed should have been dealt much severely by SC. Imposing Emergency for no reason, killing and maiming people, wanton misuse of State machinery, is treason. Mukherjeeji’s attempts also fails to cut because he was quite close to SS Ray, indeed some way a mentor. There was grapevine in higher echelons ‘wherever Ray went Pranab was sure to go!!”. And yes once it is forgiven, second time this much is enough, next time this fellow does temple hopping in front of this blogger then…Please spare this poor nation Sirji, please settle inside a sanctum sanctorum, cling to disgraceful squatters if you like but please do it after retirement, meanwhile spare us we already have many serious problems, don’t misuse our money. Kuch tho sharm karo.  Regrettably the thing about this primitive society is that I cannot even say he is setting a wrong precedence. Sycophantic leaders are happy confluence of camaraderie, debauched blessing and mystical providence that common people are not meant to understand. The quality is showing, and unfortunately it has seeped into society as desired attribute. This immense humbleness towards miracles that they seek is leading to gargantuan appetite for blessing and shortcuts.               

Communists are the one who ruined Bengal, after three decades of Left rule not even basic social development, except some self-engrossed chatteratti, indeed it remained a squatter ensconced elitist blackhole with high pretension that modelled itself on Leftists in Europe. Even in rich countries like Britain and USA leaders like Corbyns and Sanders are gaining traction among the aware whose numbers are steadily rising. Though Sander maynot win but he has definitely raised the bar that the elitist comfort seeking Left finds difficult to swallow. The godforsaken Indian Leftist leaders are regrettable bunch (except some in Kerala that includes Gowriamma and Achuthanandan, that they are popular and active even though they have well past 90 years is incredible) and have high estimate about themselves, are prone to illusions of grandeur as ordained agents of world savers. That they lack understanding of Indian realities or even exposure to grassroot was recouped with alacrity by emulating the Europeans with extensive reading and coffee table discussions. Unfortunately Indian reality has rare commonality with the West, and their search for class conflict died a premature death. That these readings didn’t remotely affect them nor their squatter ensconced world is a startling insight. They remained feudal patriarchs comfortably ensconced in squatter’s world, indeed benefitting quite grandly from these degradations as they set out to change the world. Disgraceful. Meanwhile a clever breed self-evolved in this depraved ecosystem: The leftist inclined intellectuals, who judiciously hung themselves on lusciously low branches for sycophantic Congress leaders to pluck. Sycophantic congress leaders, essentially family retainers, have low credibility and intellectual gravitas, worst they don’t even have mass support to brag, this vacuum is what they seek to fill by supporting these so called leftist intellectuals who are seen as least threatening. Indeed these leftist types scrawling around the power centre clearly pattern themselves to the requirement. Anything for easy power and money, that too in a country of more than a billion. That explains how CrudeWoman could tight hug Ms. Ali while having clear access to the highest level: The Madam, hence all the goodies and power (even call backs we are informed). It is telling on the Congress leadership that they couldn’t nurture their own followers or party members for these patronages, and indeed help consolidate itself. It shows amazing lack of trust for its own. Even elitist candidates are parachuted for elections undermining the local leadership and party workers. It’s an remarkable travesty, and what takes it to stratospheric level is insular arrogance and entitled invincibility of the leadership.

Thankfully BJP rarely does this hoisting business and impose it on people. This blogger is not against popular figures and amazingly talented people being appreciated but is against these manipulators and fair weather operators, who consistently work to impress the powerful and extract benefits at the expense of people, undermining propriety and degrading institutions. Meanwhile NDA will have to answer what is nationalism and anti-nationalism they espouse. You cannot dismiss an MP or MLA as fringe element when they declare to cut tongues or other violence. Why BJP doesn’t keep these nutcases in tight lease? Why don’t the coalition partners express concern? And yes why have the police not registered a case and arrested the muck mongers and rabble-rousers? Oh I forget the police is politicised and despite many reform commissions recommendations the Congress sycophants were too incompetent to take note or initiate reforms.    

Chakiyarkooth: it couldn’t get better

I am a big fan of Chakiyarkooth, it’s an extremely nuanced artform and a fun to watch in live audience. Chakiyarkooth is story telling by an artist to live audience; it differs from Katha prasangam (literally ‘story telling’) in that in Chakiyarkooth the story teller has an elaborate makeup and costume, he also moves around the stage. Chakiyarkooth is much nuanced than Katha prasangam. It consists of storytelling, mostly from hindu mythology, the story teller quite adeptly includes contemporary happenings particularly politics (that keralites are quite involved in, though much degraded and lacks any calibre as democracy) as part of the story. The references are subtle and so the story is from Ramayana, the Mukhyan (Chief) is undoubtedly a local king in the narration but the indication towards the CM is not missed nor is the snide or metaphor in passing. Audience understands and knows when and where the subtle indications are meant to be. Another compelling aspect of Chakiyarkooth is that the story teller also involves audience in his narration, he may shout at someone who is readying to get up or has just entered or any personal remark that he fancies, cleverly the harassment is pointed or addressed to the member in the audience but that is not to be, he is only telling the story, this admonishment is not to the person but a protagonist in the story he is narrating! This many times creates incredibly hilarious situations, with everyone kept wondering who could be his next target?!

I really don’t think an artform like this exist anywhere else, atleast not in India. Unfortunately primitive india is not far behind and has classified this artform as being performed by certain community!! Anybody with requisite talent can perform anything is not an uncommon thought in the world but then uncouth indians will wallow in its uncouthness. And yes something similar to this is tried by many comedy driven narrators in Malayalam TV.

Temple hopper Mukherjeeji (self-assured arrogance of inbuilt ji is not accepted hence one more ji. Ridiculous) is incorrigible as ever. So again the fellow crossed my path at Guruvayur, thankfully this time I was at home. This fellow is temple hopping at the expense of the state, tax payer’s money. The state machinery is being misused and millions of rupees wasted with impunity and the audacity of wishing the crowd, thankfully he didn’t wave. The police force are stretched for no reason; indeed they started their security drill days earlier, compounding the amazing travesty. Livelihood of small shopkeepers and roadside vendors were affected and confiscated; the temple hopper should know how these losses matter. Meanwhile, pilgrims were hauled and bounded, and many left stranded in this festival season. In an amazing travesty it was reported that Mukherjeeji insisted on paying for gold locket that were offered to him. He should also be made to pay for the expense that the State incurred for his misuse and wasteful ways. Temple hopping is not an official duty, clearly our man is on a look out for second term. Camaraderie is known to settle trickiest of situations, and yes miracles happens all the time the reason why it gains credibility over common people. More than anything else it is the deviance that is being consolidated with power structure, and ensuing degradation of the society, that is the concern here.

President Mukherjee was quoted as saying “…magnificent heritage of our land where people of different religions, castes and languages live in harmony. …our history is one of assimilation, mutual respect and celebration of our differences, respecting each other’s beliefs and values...”. Caste as harmony?!! Yes so much sickening harmony, and ofcourse unique self-defeating nonviolence. Indeed Kerala is a case study on regressive society, and in many ways possibilities and limitations of Indian society as a whole. Kerala’s excellent social indices are much celebrated, that achieved standards of advanced societies by 1980s. It has been hailed as model of development. An outcome of egalitarian ruling of relatively benign royalty (this may not be exaggerated as they were ensconced in squatter’s world hence caretakers of crude values), communism (that reached saturation and turned regressive), social movements (cleverly hijacked by political expediency and degradations) and Christian educational institutions (used by rich and elite, though they remain glimmer of hope for underprivileged to a large extend). Like an individual trapped in regressive mindset societies too reach saturation, no amount of possibilities can unshackle them. Kerala had all the potentials by 1970s-80s, it had enviable social indices and standard of living. Literate, aware individuals and grass root movements that acted as positive binding. Unfortunately these couldn’t unshackle the limitation under which the society’s foundation was functioning. Individuals were only part of the framework and learned to live in these unacceptable regressive traditions and norms. Literacy never could reach the potential of education and remained a means of social pride and ego driven ventures. Exploitative market utilised the opportunity to capitalise on these regression, the consumerism unleashed the insatiable desires of self-esteem, that closely emulated squatter ways. Rarely was tradition contradicting consumerism while market introduced pointers of modernity herein. It’s a dangerous mix, hence the collective hallucination for gold and glitter, the degenerating family units and deteriorating mental health. Different religions exist in this regressive communion. Food habits, language and entertainment they share show the similarity, faith therefore is an enforced diversity while regressive ways natural outcome of this degraded ecosystem. The best will find its baser self to amalgamate, hence the society slips into worse ways.  There is nothing positive here, and the youngsters are just representations and carriers of these degradations. This society had all the potential and opportunity to capitalise on modern values but they couldn’t, they cannot. Hence collapsed in it’s own weight of degrading traditions and exaggerated assessments.

 ‘God’s own Country’ is the reflection of this arrogance, this self-assured place in world –majority of whom will not even know where kerala is, and a tacit acknowledgement from superior forces, which ofcourse they are intimately in contact. As more and more nauseating temples, mosques, churches so on prop at every corner, pushing out the egalitarian ways that existed time immemorial with intimate understanding of Nature, meanwhile competing regression and nonsense gives the impression of democratic discourse and open society. It is not surprising that despite high levels of social indices (also health/education facilities), that are comparable to most advanced nations, Kerala is incapable to produce people of calibre or competence. The average fellow is generally a egoistic buffoon with quite high estimate of himself, readied to work as a replicator and sniff for higher earnings with an ardent and persist aim to establish social status in traditionally transferred pointers. Market has only made it visceral, ripping out the seemingly considerate nuanced ways, that did existed from ancient times, and replacing it with terrible ways that is asserted as free modern stands. Democratic decibel only adds to noise and counter noise, there are no ideas or thoughts but personal attacks and counter attacks. Literacy is reduced to trashy film/tv related nonsense that has firmly established itself as mainstream narrations. Technology is but only as a means to celebrate and appropriate for the burgeoning greed and to raise esteem in society. Esteem and status being constant fixture and consistent motivator. Further degradation is insisted as blabbermouth mediocre market artists take centre stage, sometimes, even as moral authority and thought generators. This was unthinkable few decades back, but that is the miracle of technology as it bumps into mediocre society. It’s an astounding degradation and a firm reminder to where the Indian society will be moving. As social indices of India rise (which ofcourse is stuck with the most poor sub Saharan part of the world, thanks to camaraderie at the higher places and misplaced policy making. Mukherjeeji is only consolidation of these) don’t expect people to develop/responsible, the social mobility framework is utterly degraded. This society is seriously deviant and is incapable to understand or capitalise the immense potential the world has to offer. It thrives in its pits, regurgitating traditions to its progenies and multiplies in as ordained selves. Indians therefore saturates as replicators to the world, the society lacks the basic values to produce normal compassionate people that are the foundation of inquisitive and thriving ways, an ecosystem needed to produce insight to the problems and foresight to the solutions. It blunders from one way to another with all its misplaced esteem intact, meanwhile exploited and abused by the powerful as they cunningly facilitates to cannibalise itself. This role of facilitators is the most sought after, the bewitching acts to besotted world.

Mukherjeejis of the world has no business to elucidate about syncretic culture nor does he measure up to represent it. Far from it the squatter ensconced are serious threat and in the last many decades (when scoundrel CR moved in with his shudikaran of Presidential house after Mountbatten) have severely degraded the Indian society as they spread by gripping on to the power and ruse of democracy. I have a home at Guruvayur and have roamed the place hundreds of times but never went inside the temple. At the gate it is mentioned ‘non-hindus not allowed’, and never could understand that, ofcourse I do have serious problem with squatters inside and the legitimacy of these claims. Unfortunately Indian judiciary, market media or social elite are too incompetent to question these, indeed they are not only complicit but major benefactor. I really want to know who are the ‘hindus’ and who are ‘non hindus’. These squatter ensconced scoundrels expertise in ‘who should be allowed and not allowed’, this nonsense has a long horrendous tradition and still remains the  basis of the faith discourse in this primitive setting, and indeed forms the cultural value of this godforsaken people. According to my understanding of Hinduism Mukherjeeji doesn’t measure up as a Hindu nor the scoundrels inside the temples qualified to speak about Hinduism and decide who should enter.

In a civilised society people like Mukherjeeji would never be coming anywhere near democratic power structure. They are of the same calibre as gun hugging bible proud right wing republicans in US. These nonviolent advocating vegetarian espousing caste hugging souls may act liberal and look harmless but these are the most despicable type of humans who have constantly degraded and diminished the egalitarian nature of the Indian society.

Post script: the degradation is such that when the best of the world visit India they go disgrace while indians clap all the way. Incidentally they rarely visit when they are at the peak of their career. So Usain Bolt never intends his running skills when in India but plays cricket, Maradona lands to sponsor godforsaken gold jewelry in Kerala, recently Wimbledon tennis 2013 grand slam winner Bartoli was here not to promote or showcase tennis but as a fashion designer!! So fixers can fix for easy money as skills goes downhill, mediocre Indians are quite tolerant suckers. I am told the best part of the stupid game cricket (it is a stretch to call it a sport) happens during practice sessions, the mediocre come carefully prepared for brand positioning while so-called journalist go heavens reporting this ground breaking event

Let more ‘communities’ come home to roost

It is when the primitive society negotiates the realities of egalitarian values and modern setting that the gaps are seen in these compelling sights. And yes let each and every ‘community’ come out on the street and vandalise to show their strength and fight for more clout and pride. Squatter ensconced mediocre elite and those playing intellectuals (includes godforsaken sociologists) bargained, ofcourse in their entitled ways, that these puss filled festers will be scratched and licked in private pleasure and will only be showcased as amazing diversity when summoned. But alas, this is something that was not factored and they cringe in their respective ‘community’ pits wondering what has come to the world. Why are people such brutes, and yes what happened to Gandhi apostling peace that we are so world famous for? A wonderful conception where people peacefully come out of their putrid pits and hug the passerby with nonviolence seeping the street and gandhian values filling the air, and then dutifully go back to their pits and day dream. Well clearly it is not really happening that way. The stench of putrid pit fills the street. In such a discriminatory and amazingly prejudiced and stratified society egalitarian framework like democracy creates existential confusion and angst that civilised people may find difficult to understand. Let more and more ‘communities’ come out in each and every street and fight it out. Nonviolence in this primitive world is an act of assertive deviance as much as non-vegetarianism is a progressive step when faced with excruciatingly regressive vegetarianism. When it comes to India conventional wisdom and liberal contexts needs to be re-evaluated. The elite sections attempt to align with semantics of the civilized world falls well short, the hypocrisy is telling.    

Pests in Delhi: This is a chapter in Mr. Kutty’s autobiography (that I mentioned in my previous blog), it is wonderfully insightful hence I thought of quoting. The readers will see strong contemporary resonance, well it is but expected afterall it’s the duty of devious elders to pass on their artform to progenies as matter of tradition; inbreeding sharpens it to a level that ordinary mortals are never equipped to fathom the nuances of this deeply degraded ways.

After independence, three ways of Pests (each of different kind) invaded Delhi. They were the Gandhians, in the early years, followed by Public Relation people –born during the ‘Permit-Quota-License period’ –and then the Left intellectuals.

The Gandhians acquired bad reputation, long before Gandhiji died. Gandhiji was aware of this. The group included gang of unscrupulous people out to earn quick buck, using that great man’s name. There were Pure Gandhians who claimed they are vegetarian, but ate even beef privately; believed in truth only, but never told one. There were other Gandhians who propagated prohibition, but they themselves drank and enjoyed scotch. All sorts were there. They included criminals, crooks, conmen, and even common thieves. They all had gone jail ofcourse –but they never clarified for what. They were the most insincere and untrustworthy people around. Many of them managed to secure ‘tamrapatras’, and pensions, claiming they were freedom fighters.

A conversation between GV Tendulkar (a great photographer and writer, who had written the definitive biography of Gandhiji, in several volumes) and Gandhiji was reported to us when he visited Shankar at his office…When Gandhiji expressed some doubts about a project Tendulkar had proposed, the latter retorted “Bapu you can trust me. I am NOT a Gandhian”. Gandhiji had a good laugh…

After a time, the Gandhians had to give way to the next group who were active when all business, trade and commerce came under strict government control –the public relation fellows. These guys were ready to do anything to get favour for their clients from the bureaucrats and politicians. Some of them were freelancers. Most of them were attached to big business houses. They had heavy Expense Account purses, with no restrictions whatsoever. These people continued to operate for quite sometime. They managed to displace the Gandhians. Some of them had been operating previously as Gandhians, though!

After them came Left intellectuals who dominated this scene for a long period. They were mostly people with some academic qualification, professors, so-called researchers, journalists, actors, painters, and fellows claiming to be writers and thinkers. The common link that kept them all together was the Scotch, supplied by various Communist Embassies in New Delhi. These fellows had communist leanings but did not have the desire to join the party, lest it interfere with business, which was making money quick, because the party insist on share of your income for itself, from its members.

They were intelligent fellows who had discovered that Communism was easiest way to ‘Accumulate Capital.’

Their heyday was during the Indira regime, when one of the top Communist Party leaders, Mr Mohan Kumaramangalam left that Party, and joined the Indira cabinet! I knew a lot of journalist in this group. When the pay commission for the journalists came, one could know the salary of any one of them. But nobody could fathom their income!!

This group was, unlike the Public Relations crowd, able to make money without spending any. Indira’s advisers belong to this group. Occasionally you could spot some of these ‘Left Intellectuals’ in the ‘Right reactionary’ crowd, probably exploring possibilities here.

People who went to the American embassy for any business, or even to the US Information Service Library, were branded as ‘Right reactionaries’, even ‘CIA agent’ by these fellows! The rouble for these people was holy, the dollar ‘dirty’, though if they had the chance to get it, they themselves preferred the dollar. The collapse of Communist regimes in Europe left these chaps at a loose end! Soon they dispersed and formed their own individual lobbies for various politicians.

It’s an insight that will help you understand all kind of fixers, manipulators and pretenders around the power centres.  Their task becomes much easier when the sycophants are elevated into cabinet positions, indeed they lobby for these incompetent and unelectable geezers. Sometimes carefully position these as matter of pride, while the family surrounded by sycophants live in exaggeration and invincibility, these attribute expertly exploited by manipulators to hyperbole the hurt and victims readied to be fed. Elevation of amazingly incompetent people like Salman Kurshid and Ambika Soni can be explained from this framework, latter’s role in emergency atrocities made her particularly vulnerable hence easily manipulated by vested interests. How much of national interest was compromised and privacy of individuals intruded, for personal aggrandizement and private reasons, nobody will ever know.

Brethren in the rigmarole of ever purifying moral high grounds

As the so-called journalists were beaten up by so-called lawyers there was a frenzy to showcase that the world as we know is collapsing, this narration was pushed onto more than billion hapless people. In between we have the draconian sedition laws that rest ever so lightly on the shoulders of policy makers, et al sycophants, and legal luminaries as nuances are served with hot bread pakodas. Some even claim dire days are upon us, then ofcourse there is mandatory signature campaign, a pride of international assertion that likes of Kasturi&Sons can easily muster. To give the context, during Chennai flood, as emergency relief and lifesaving materials were being distributed, there were reports of blatant ‘caste’ bias, as some areas were neglected and people threatened. This attitude exhibited during one of the bleakest moment facing the people. How did human beings come to be like this? What is the basis of such depravity? This is the ‘community’ that Kasturi&Sons (as intellectual forbearers, ofcourse this malaise is ever prevalent in this godforsaken society, there is always valiant effort to exotic gift-wrap for westerners) have been nurturing with debauched blessing and feudal ways with gusto right into the 21^st century. If, after independence, steps were taken to execute land reforms and stringent inheritance tax, it would have sealed this debauchery and entitled high moral grounds that squatter ensconced world claim. Chomsky/Pamuk needs to do a study before aligning and stepping into disgraceful camaraderie; the clarion call that attempts at compassion and egalitarian ways is standing on a weak and crumbling foundation. It is habitual on the part of squatter ensconced to take high moral grounds from the most primitive of settings, social reality that they are proud perpetrators. Miming egalitarian ways and displaying moral high grounds to attract the attention of enlightened section of West is a constant endeavour. Beware.

The other day I was going through this book, Years of laughter: Reminiscences of a Cartoonist (by PKS Kutty) in the nearby library. Kutty was in thick of things in Delhi during and after the independence, I found his insights and grapevine rather revealing, also a pointer to the so-called leaders, the quality of freedom fighters and their entrenched attitude. This blogger was always sceptical of these scheming connivers who have hold over this godforsaken society and mime as great souls and leaders. And yes this fellow C.Rajagopalachari (CR) was always a suspect and I have been trying to get hold of him for sometime. CR is a clear case of squatter ensconced scoundrel who by playing camaraderie did exceeding well and reaped untold goodies. He is seen as a role model of mediocre elite and is elevated as some kind of great statesman wherein the reality being he lacked even basic intellect and understanding of people. Arrogant as always he worked his devious charm, and ofcourse, inimitable humble simplicity in nuances that floored squatter ensconced. Meanwhile sided with colonial masters during quit India movement (hilariously classified as ‘pacifist’, Bhagat Singh in this conception was terrorist!!), quite understandably he was elevated as Governor General, but somehow couldn’t work his charm for the post of President, which went to much deserving Rajendra Prasad. Now when CR (he is also referred to as Rajaji, something I am sure he relished) stayed in Rashtrapathi Bhavan (then Viceroy’s Lodge) he converted it into mini squatter’s den, into his private sanctum sanctorum of purity, writes Kutty “Viceroy’s Lodge became a venue for the observance for all religious rituals…He observed all sacred days with appropriate rituals…the leaders of Tamil Brahmin community were invited to these functions. The priest had to be there. Rajaji did not have the heart to displease any denominations. So he invited a whole lot of priest for these rituals” (emphasis mine). As you may know in this primitive world there is pecking order within squatter!!, it is an amazing degradation. Needless to say CR, in his simple humble ways, put it as government expense. The impunity with which they desecrated the democratic institutions is undoubtedly amazing. 
And yes these were the scoundrels on whose hand the fledging democracy was sought to be protected. Scoundrel CR showed his chicanery as he opposed Nehru (Panditji for Left leaders like D.Raja, the fellow should be ashamed of himself, no wonder these pretenders are facing extinctions) as he was against socialism, indeed he was towards right wing. Wherein, more than pseudo socialism, the need of the hour was revolutionary changes towards equitable distribution that aligned with core principal of democracy. Meanwhile, CR was to further demean institutions as Governor of Madras invited him to be CM as a matter of high camaraderie and blessing, that it was serious case of impropriety is minor matter here. The conspicuousness of the act is what is remarkable and shows entitled surety of ordained selves. Clearly the Governor “did not have the heart to displease” CR, the debauched blessing pays back at the most opportune time. CR actively set out to sanskritise tamil and impose his will on people, the ham handed way of this foolish fellow ended in serious flare. It is also not a coincidence that Gandhi saw him as a "keeper of my conscience". Meanwhile the progenies of these two have multiplied and are habituated to take high moral grounds. Shockingly CR is a Bharat Ratna, the highest civilian award!!(picture herein is a cartoon by Kutty as battalion of squatter cycle down Raisina hill after CR feed) 
                                       

As the shout for freedom of expression gets louder this blogger likes to remind the readers that the active participant and perpetrator of Emergency was Information & Broadcasting cabinet minister in the previous government. This was pointed out by this blogger much earlier, indeed there was vengeance shown by the market fixers and manipulators to resuscitate this woman, who if we had effective law and order machinery would be rotting in jail. And yes, if Election Commission had some spine then Indira Gandhi should have been debarred from elections, that the least that was expected. If ever there was a case for treason at the highest level then it has to be proclamation of Emergency. It was gross violation of constitution and seditious act on the State and people. Nepotism and corruption thrive when there is a critical mass of sycophants as leaders, these unelectables tend to use all the opportunity to dispense patronage to create clout and demean the institutions, they manipulate with impunity as they are answerable to no one hence they put energy on creating perceptions. Market manipulators have field day as the big corporates zero in to butter the deal. This precisely is what was happening, and most likely still happens as the system is too degraded. Take for instance, while Volkswagen world over severely suffered because of its cheating and had to recall it cars, in India these were not taken seriously (we have a ridiculous situation of a car manufacturer claiming that their car exhaust is fresher than the air, meanwhile they export car adhering to high clean/quality standards while refusing to do for Indian market. The audacity is amazing!!), they were engaged in emotion driven ads to trap people.

The market media is completely immersed in world of perceptions and manipulation, within these restrictions we get the supine spine of the fourth estate, mostly based around the power centre and money bags. The infotainment works with movies and cricket as lynchpin therefore representing arts and sports respectively, market create the parameters within which there is an intense search for freedom. It is the most devious and exaggerated of conception. While semiliterate and easily manipulateble protagonists emerge as artists and sportspersons, readied as icons and role models, meanwhile they disgracefully hawk sundry things with compulsive intent. There is an immediate need for world without these deception, ads and related manipulation, precious time is lost in these nonsense apart from ofcourse the degradation that blur the lines of fact and fiction, reality and perceptions. It amazing that economic growth model is hinged on deceit, this spurious understanding that has caught the imagination and constant source of growth, the development and modernity.

      

Democracy is an institution that has lots of potential but in the squatter ensconced social setup and feudal realities of India, wherein egalitarian intent is absent, responsible ways unheard of, entitlement is accepted as competence, the democratic institutions are under serious threat of being conduit to exploitations, reduces to farce. I was reading about French revolution the other day The Marriage of Figaro is an opera by Mozart based on the play by Beaumarchais, this was three years before the revolution. It was so influential that the last act of the play ‘was revolution in action’ according to Napoleon. Figaro points to the Count, the figure representing entitlement and debauchery, and said “Because you are a great nobleman, you think you’re a great genius. Nobility, wealth, honours, emoluments!! What have you done to earn so many advantages? You took the trouble to be born, nothing more”.       

This play was an indication of fervour of the time as the people questioned the traditional authority and nepotism, that extremely talented people added their might to the zeal is the reason why French revolution is path breaking event in human history. It was a new dawn of equality, fraternity and liberty that became the cornerstone of human values concretised in the idea of democracy. Primitive Indians have long way to go on these matters, although entitled worldviews give them constant urges of greatness that objective realities denies. It is in this context this blogger again question the reason for not imposing inheritance tax. Considering how skewed the society is, as also primitive tradition that consolidate prejudices, biases and discriminations, as also strong camaraderie that can be substantiated by any amount of study and will show blatant elitism at every stage. Facts as well as the narration and arguments are easily manipulated. If cultural inheritance is so crude then material inheritance only consolidates these, it therefore act as a conduit of further discrimination and harbinger of exponential inequity. Ownership of capital is skewed, and gets worse with inheritance and bequests. How it impacts the concept of competence and merit is self-evident.

Though the biggest source of economic inequality is inherited wealth the finance ministry thinks “inheritance tax won't make much sense, as people in India don't inherit much".  And then there are some who quote Milton Friedman asserting that such a tax ignores one of the fundamental incentives that drive humans to create and save wealth: the incentive of family creation. This is taken as moral argument. Indeed in Indian case incentives are given to ‘family businesses’, which is nothing but nepotism, so much for competence and equity. Even countries like USA, that has weird affliction to family, has strong inheritance tax in place (as high as 50% in some States, with Federal tax rises to as much as 85%. In Japan it is 70% while France 40%). It is not a surprise that whether RBI Governor (Raghuram Rajan) or Chief Economic Advisor (Arvind Subramanium) don’t seem receptive to these problems that plague Indian society, their social context may provide the clue. It is also likely, that like any mainstream economist, they see economic problem in terms of prosperity and growth, and not as an instrument of social change or equity. It is therefore not a surprise that followers of growth model fuel policies that end up consolidating disparities. “The returns to capital typically exceed the rate of growth of national income, making it even more concentrated, and inequality gets worse” argues Piketty. Another problem in context to India is that vested interests have seen to that there is always lack of reliable data, hence growth narration can be manipulated and placed in the realm of perceptions. But realities are difficult to hide, social indices shows amazing level of disparities as social relations further exploitative. Corporates and business only bring in efficiency of profit opportunism and dehumanisation. Even political leaders are just puppets to these bigger forces, and in Indian case these are strong insurmountable entrenched interests that have mastery in devious ways and scuttle any positive measure. Indeed egalitarian ideas espoused by democracy are seriously undermined by economic policies that favour elite in the name of growth. Worsening Gini coefficient is an indicator that in the absence of inheritance or wealth tax there is increasing concentration of wealth. In an inegalitarian and discriminatory society like India these have devastating consequences that amplifies cultural deviances and consolidates primitive ways. Rent seeking and patrimonial capitalism is reflecting the false sheen of development and is clearly showcasing lack of competence while on the other hand appalling public investment in primary education or health have seen to deplorable human conditions and lost potential. There are traditional and deeply entrenched reasons to this apathy, social stratification severely undermines any signs of growth, while demographic dividends only looks exciting on paper. Regressive harmony that rears effacing violence cannot be about peace. Inheritance tax therefore should be seen as a corrective measure for the malaise of the huge disparity in income and wealth rather than as a source of revenue for the exchequer.  

ONV was the soul of Malayalam

Malayalam is not an easy language, and to weave into melodious entrancing soulful songs, that everytime you hear it takes you right back to Kerala (indeed lazier part of Shankumugam beach on weekday afternoons, sleepy bylanes, sight from college window where you could see trees every moment and Indian coffee house where I saw ONV once) and loftier meanings to life that knocks you all the time. Significantly, his Malayalam rendition of poems, an art in itself, was always a pleasure to listen to. His concern for Malayalam is as alive, as Indian languages are threatened by English and market driven superficial ways

Threat to integrity of nation cannot be tolerated

Nation State is duty bound to protect its integrity and cannot tolerate any attempts to undermine it. The kind of sloganeering that was carried out in JNU is highly seditious and therefore should be dealt accordingly. Ideas can be debated and disagreed but call to break up the country cannot be tolerated under any circumstance. This blogger understands that draconian sedition act is a British legacy and hence should be modified to the suit the context of the time. It is horrible that in seven decades of sycophantic and incompetent leaders didn’t have the time nor had any intent for these basic changes, it is an amazing travesty. Further, this blogger always held that Article 370 is discriminatory and is the source of misery for ordinary kashmiris. To maintain this Army is put under severe pressure, hence violations. Societies work by exchange and amalgamation, and not by artificial boundaries. Atleast the law should allow people from different part of the country to settle in Jammu&Kashmir, it cannot be kept frozen in time and  be exploited by competing forces, especially the mullahs (with connivance from rabids across the border) and to work out their angst. The angst that Left always found compelling as they have least connection with the marginalised and exploited, hence the hobnobbing with elite muslims is easy getaway. This too is a British legacy, and you can find traces in regressive multiculturalism in contemporary Britain as the society plunges trying to accommodate cruder ways. The celebration of different worldviews, faith, culture and tradition exists in context of equality and egalitarian ways, hence within what is promoted as different ways or culture it should be reflected. It cannot work in competing regressiveness. How much Indian elite, who migrated to London, have exploited these colonial guilt angst and deviously worked out to spread out squatter ensconced crude ways as they hid under mullah concerns and high sounding human values so on should be scrutinised.  

JNU is a premier institute and provides lots of opportunities to outsiders in what is essentially a highly exploitive and discriminatory insular world of Delhi. This blogger too was in JNU briefly though I didn’t get the stream that I was keen on, as also the hostel facility (that was a critical factor, as I had to focus on earning) but did utilize the opportunity to explore the place, must add a terrific library that one, gives me serious nostalgia, I was mostly here and rarely attended any classes. If Sahitya Akademi library opened me into amazing world of fiction writing (I had no idea about fiction hence started to read alphabetically at the rate of one or two books a week, keeping the thicker ones for the end of the month as the money drained these books kept me occupied. Amit Choudhari should know how much alphabets in name matters!!), then exemplary nonfiction writings were in JNU (though much earlier I stumbled upon Naipaul&Co in air conditioned and amazingly silent, dusty books at Central Secretariat library as I avoided the terrible Delhi heat). JNU provides the opportunity and freedom but it shouldn’t be misused. State must be, and should be questioned, stridently so, but threat of physical elimination and disintegration, is crossing the line, the state therefore is duty bound to respond. That however doesn't mean that right wing should have a free run under the guise of nationalism and state patronage, this is evolving into threatening dimensions.   

Soldiers dying in Siachin have become a regular affair, its time government look for technological options. Human presence must be avoided at these inclement conditions that seriously compromises the health and is constant threat to life. I recall about two decades back I was in Chennai and used to drop into transit camp mess for dinner, met these officers on transit. Sometimes used to go out with younger ones for movies so on (watching Cliffhanger movie few times free of cost was an achievement), I being conversant in the language as also the place. There was one young officer, I distinctly remember, who had swollen fingers from his stint in Siachin, he also got headaches. He, meanwhile, was proud to have served at such dangerous conditions. I still recall feeling extremely amused. But then that is army man for you, the reason why they should be adequately compensated for their services. And yes no two ranks are similar it’s the risk and sacrifices that should be factored.

I recall a funny instance here, once we went for movie at a seedy theatre (I forgot the name but it used to be opposite American consulate, next to the fly over) the disgraceful place had the system that you could buy the ticket and be inside forever, as they repeated the movie again and again, needless to say there were many other ‘activities’ happening inside the theatre, movie being a distraction!! Frankly I wasn’t really aware of this place, and ended up as there weren’t any good movies running in nearby theatres, the lieutenant who was with me thought the movie was wacky, meanwhile he informed that the guy next had placed his hand on his thigh, we dismissed it as accidental but soon the hand was determinately climbing up and that’s when the upright lieutenant let it be known that he was counting ten, if the fellow doesn’t take his hand off by that time then he is going to break his skull. When an army man says it he means it, there is no thinking on these matters. Alarmed I immediately confronted the creepy fellow with ‘enappa epidi’ and try to play it down as the fellow shirked away. When I met the lieutenant next day for dinner I found him still seething, as furious, itching for a good fight.                

It's mosquito over Olympics

This is an unprecedented health crisis. Zika virus is turning out to be much dangerous than previously thought, apart from severely affecting new born babies, recently they have found that it causes neural disorder and paralysis in adults. There is also various version of its transmission, including sexual. This blogger was reading that these vicious variations has probably to do with genetically modified mosquitoes that were introduced, I am not finding confirmation on this but if this is true then this further put question mark on gene modification and the unknown impact it exhibits in nature. Clearly these need serious relook and comprehensive field study. Few months back I attended a talk by Richard John Roberts a British biochemist and molecular biologist (Nobel Prize in Medicine in 1993), he was all out for GM food, indeed quite intriguingly strongly pushing the claim that food security is acute in poorer countries hence these societies should spearhead these innovation. He showed immense enthusiasm for ‘logical discussion’, even anyone questioning GM was dismissed as ‘propaganda’. Incidentally I also happen to watch a program in BBC (panorama) few years back where the same views were asserted quite aggressively. This blogger likes to keep an open view about things but recent happenings, the failures of Bt crops as also the unknown impacts adds to the concern. Then there is a concern of how much of what we eat is already GM without we being aware of or told. Now we have the issue of mustard and also threat to pulse security. A country like India which has so much diversity in crops, and time tested sustainable methods, is being consistently assaulted by profit mongers, ofcourse in connivance with fixers, this is getting rather apparent. Food security is an important matter, as it is ever burgeoning population and other developmental pressures, but much critical are sustainability factors as also health concerns. The catastrophe of intensive chemical fertilizers and pesticide is being felt quite clearly. Scientific input is important but application of science cannot have the carte blanche of scientific when vested interests and moneybags are standing outside to exploit.

Meanwhile it looks quite likely that Olympics may have to be cancelled, or be shifted to countries that can arrange it at short notice. The risk of spread is too large, significantly we still don't have complete information about this virus. As the earth gets warmer these kinds of threats are set to rise.
