This blogger had
mentioned this earlier too that children be taught in their mother tongue as far
as possible, English can be compulsory language. Indians are easily bilinguals,
but the prominence of English should be resisted. The recent SC order is a setback,
and the State has the duty to overturn this, the Parliament must make it clear.
Otherwise we are left with rootless, culturally bereft generations, readied to
be exploited by market. Since in such cases the education is much shallow, not
able to tap excellence, and thus mediocre people who fit into service oriented jobs
and subsidiaries herein. The reason for india’s mediocrity has the sinister
attempt by the elite to negate true education. An education that is grounded to
realities of society, is specific to nuanced worlds of societies, that which creates
empathetic individuals. The prominence being given to a language, which is not
within the innate grasp of the child, attempts to creates value for a language that
is only a medium. It pushes the child into deviant framework, where shallowness
is end and all. This therefore has a detrimental effect on shaping attitude and values
that it seek to inculcate. We already are seeing this with amazingly crude consumerist
‘educated people’, whose worldviews (despite English) are quite narrow, indeed
semi-literate. The entitlement driven mediocre elites want these zombies to cement
their position, because the only talent they have is to howl in English. While Indians
queue up to buy Korean and Chinese products, sold very delectably by ‘smart’ Indians,
who in turn are burgeoning market for luxury goods, again produced by Germans
or Japanese, while, again, delectably sold by ‘smart’ Indians!! This cycle is
called development. You see the car ads you know how stupid these people are.
Undermining mother
tongue is undermining the heritage as also local understandings. When I mention
‘culture’ it means the best that has percolated through thousands of years, that
we are proud of, the one that is connected to the soul of the land and its
people. It helps us to go deeper and understand
the intricacies, problems and insights therefore innovations. It is also the ability
to decipher what is wrong. It is generally seen that revivalism of the worst
kind is among the English fed rootless Indians. The argument that English opens
the world is rather shallow, since in most cases it is American sitcoms and
lifestyle demands that are waiting as world!! Further the argument is not against
English but primacy of mother tongue, that helps the child grasp knowledge
better and relate to his/her immediate surroundings. Unfortunately insecure and zombie like Indians and its amazingly mediocre
manipulative elite will never get to the core of issue, so society in general
suffers.
