Deal with him strongly

This blogger is ready to give everyone a chance and keeps an open mind about things, hence will not be prejudiced by narration and counter narration, being fully aware these are same kind of people in different outfits. Every person will have to be dealt on his or her merit and not on perception or views of obnoxious self-serving conscience keepers. Amit Shah has crossed the line, and he will have to be dealt severely. He is holding an extremely responsible position (as the head of largest political party as also heading the alliance that forms the government), and arguably he has tarnished these. The political party concerned, or its moral torchbearer RSS, should severely curtail these kind of utterings. This is not only blatantly communal but also brings shame to the nation for being compared to a country that cannot even be called a proper democracy with non-existent minority rights. In his depraved utterings he has also given credibility to sickular liberal elitist narration that seeks to see Pakistan as linchpin of its subtle ‘minority values’. This counter narration is a trap that seeks to polarise as also severely ridicules common people’s sensibilities and trivialises their aspirations. Amit Shah will have to be dealt severely by Election Commission, if they don’t show spine then SC will have to intervene. This cannot be the new normal.

     

Patwardhan kriya

It goes without saying that Anant Patwardhan is one of the most competent documentary maker around. Over the decades he has made some incisive and path breaking documentaries; in the overwhelming mediocrity that India is he clearly stands out as an exception. And I must admit he has been quite an influence in many ways. His recent attics though reeks of self-indulgence and righteousness that is quite beyond what is the need, it is very likely that he has surrounded himself in exaggerations hence being crudely alarmist the way of dealing. Most significantly if he is so concerned about the society then why has he even accepted these awards from a society that symbolises discrimination in its every acts and being? Why does he hobnobs with media that actively promotes primitive ways? (thankfully many international columnists have stopped contributing to these putrid pits. International community should severely scrutinise Indian conscience keepers and their clever ways). Last but not the least what will it take from him to spent 100R to get his casteist reference dropped and be civilised? Clearly he cannot be part of the primitive and claim high moral grounds. It is not allowed in civilised society. No dear not allowed.

This society seems to be built on myths and perceptions. Common people have been treated as juvenile who could go delinquent if not fed with bed time stories and kept under control, meanwhile the elite section claw for the spoils. With the technological innovations society is opening up and people are able to assert themselves (including this blogger, few decades back I would be easily stamped out and thrown into the nearest dustbin), things will have to be opened up. Mahatmas and pundits will be open to scrutiny, as also the degraded nature of this society that seems to be taken as way of life. Angst is natural, so is feeling of loss for the good old days when honey dropped from the sky. That the elite section is amazingly mediocre is given but their extent of imposition on the society is what is frightening. That they are able to dictate terms and manipulate narration makes it sinister. They have severely degraded the society and created misery by their incompetence. You can disagree without being disagreeable is a nice try. The pertinent question here is how are these primitive people at the helm of affair? It is indeed difficult not to be disagreeable with debauched ways, ideally this blogger will have nothing to do with these people and will steer clear of these disgraceful presences but when they are at the helm then they will have to be dealt. Returning awards is therefore not only opportune and an attempt at mischief but also trying to place thyself in higher conscience that really cannot go unscrutinised. This normal is unacceptable. 

Prosecute him

Attack on Iraq by Bush-Blair alliance in 2003 was a mischievous act that created lots of misery. It is a common knowledge that deterioration of the region started with this mischief. ISIS can be, to a large extend, traced to invasion of Iraq. Not denying that the dangerously deteriorating situation has also to do with patriarchal and patronising nature of religion/society manipulated by powerful, that seem to be not in consonance with democratic values nor humanitarian concerns hence the egalitarian intent of Arab spring, that was supported by common people, couldn’t spread its roots and institutionalised. It fettered away into something sinister in the vacuum. It is the cruder nature of the religion, that seeks to destroy quaint traditions and culture, has found expression in this brutal power struggle.  

This blogger recalls being appalled by the preparation to attack Iraq with their self-serving logic and spurious intentions. We (I don’t recall the people who helped) did collect voices of people within our reach against this madness (passing on to Kasturi&sons makes me cringe, unfortunately there were no blogs during those days. We are so grateful to the inventors of these platforms; there is no need for pretentious arbitrators and adipose layered arrogant middlemen).  It was quite clear that this will lead to dangerous outcome, wherein the target and focus should have been on Taliban Afghanistan. Saddam Hussein, though obnoxious, could have been a stable ally and later eased off with democratic alternative. Easier said than done but one thing is sure: invasion of Iraq messed up the situation and caused deaths and misery. Bush had an agenda and Blair provided the 'sexed up' alibi. There is definitely a case against Blair, International Court of Justice must show some spine and initiate action. It must exhibit the same enthusiasm that it shows against despots in Africa. 

On consumption…

These few lines I read the other day, something I always believed in…less buying, less wasting, less spending, less time on working to earn money, more time …(However now the problem is even the basic needs are becoming quite costly, right from staple food, house rent so on, some of the latest gadgets have become essential, but i guess it is a one time investment, the upgraded versions don't add much value, mostly superficial). 

The second you open your wallet to buy something, it costs you – and in more ways than you might think. Yes, of course there’s the price tag and the corresponding amount of time it took you to earn that amount of money, but possessions also cost you space in your home and time spent cleaning and maintaining them. And as the token environmentalist in the room, I’d be remiss if I didn’t remind you that when you buy something, you’re also taking on the task of disposing of it (responsibly or not) when you’re done with it. Our addiction to consumption is a vicious one, and it’s stressing us out.

This is why some normal adult human beings can live in houses just 426 square feet and others find that not even their 2,500-square-foot McMansion feels big enough. It’s almost never the amount of space that’s the problem, but the amount of stuff.

So if bigger homes aren’t the solution, what is? I suggest heading in the exact opposite direction: deliberately choose a life with less. Buy less and instantly you have less to store; you use less space. Eventually you can work less to pay for all of this stuff. Soon you will stress less too and, above all, your life will involve less waste.

When Deshpandes and Vajpeyis conscience emit compassion like feelings…

In good old days this blogger always used to make the mistake of confusing conscience and conscious, and never could tell the difference nor did I ever got the spelling right. So the best way to deal with these was to avoid it altogether or look for spellable substitute. Very soon I realised that these are important words and really cannot be ignored, the substitute don’t really measure up. So here it is; Conscience refers to a “person's moral sense of right and wrong” while Conscious means “being aware of and responding to one's surroundings”. I also realise that these two words are quite interlinked since without conscience conscious is hollow, it’s a world of moral ambiguity and convenient ethical values. While without conscious conscience is meaningless, morality in the absence of awareness of surroundings is self-obsession, a crude reflection of oneself as also motivated. The latter is the context here: the sparkling conscience without conscious. The matter of conscious becomes quite blatant when Deshpandes and Vajpeyis descend to express their conscience.

It is a well-documented fact the way this society cannibalises on its weak. After the so called independence it was expected that the rule of law and institutions of democracy would create an egalitarian society, but that really hasn’t happened. There have been systematic atrocities committed on the weakest, specifically the dalits and the tribes, or whoever fills in the space of the vulnerable in the context. Squatter’s barbarism is replicated as desired ways of mobility, the reason why this society is amazingly brutal minded and discriminatory, all depravities are kept intact and celebrated in non-violent ethos, constantly searching the nuances in semantic jugglery to appear civilised. Hence there is tremendous enthusiasm in fawning to the powerful and exploiting the weak. As the squatter’s crude hold gets weaker (or as some move to sickular liberal pastures) the next in line strengthens the framework and establishes cruder attitude in all its viciousness. With the advent of divisive politics in the name of democracy and market greed in the name of development, the exploitative ethos gets channelized into next opportunity. The act of dehumanisation is random but the mechanism is same. This society is adept in classifying human beings and has a ravenous delight in exploiting the marginalised while constantly showering encomiums on itself.

 Vajpeyi writes “One of the most ancient in the world, this tradition belongs to a civilisational enterprise called India. It is perhaps the largest in the world, unique in its plurality of language, religion, custom, cuisine, costume, craft etc. Nothing in India has remained singular for long, everything sooner or later turns plural or becomes part of a large plural. Not god, nor language, not system of philosophy and reflection, nor faith and worship, not to speak of belief and value. There have always been forces amongst us who do not like this deeply enriching plurality and who would see it replaced by some kind of uniformity which they believe would be more manageable. Our tradition has not only been one of plurality but also of dialogue and accommodation, interrogation and dissent, of public debate, innovation and scrutiny. The shastraarth, one of the unique institution of public testing of ideas and insights used to take place in public between contesting view points. The Indians have never been afraid or intolerant of dissent or debate”.

Obviously it has some truth but I firmly hold that these ideas were not confined to India, to elevate it as “civilisational enterprise called India” –the Jagathguru syndrome, is an exaggeration the kind the Vajpeyis and Deshpandes are very prone to, and something we are tolerating for long time. The angst here being that this superior understanding of oneself are now being hijacked by right wing hooligans lock stock and barrel all intact, even Gandhi, with such desultory ease that this in itself should have raised eyebrows. But they lament for the past. The tolerant accommodative idea of India was always threatened by the very forces that Vajpeyis (bahuvachan is a celebration on camaraderie and casteist pits that he signifies) burdens as his identity, the shining beacon. Argumentative Indian and accommodative nature were necessarily vibrant presence outside squatter’s grip, and that is definitive ethos of this society without stressing it as something unique. Those ensconced in squatter were a constant threat to common people and their ways, these severely dwindled liberal spaces and attempted at replacing with crude world. This attempts at usurping the vibrant nature of society and placing within squatter is devious and will not be allowed to go unchallenged. It is also not ironic that even likes of Amartya Sen seem unaware of these myth building by liberal masquerading elites, he seem oblivious of casteist putrid pits from where these charades emanates.

The squatter ensconced elite have been having firm control over narration for time immemorial, and therefore this contemporary reconstruction (with amazing expertise on myth building) as egalitarian benevolent creature is an absurdity and mocking on the misery of the people. The depravity and the horrendous nature of the society is all there for the world to see. These are the facts, easily verifiable from the skewed nature of this society and its ways. They systemically degraded the people and attempted at destroying the soul of the society. It is thanks to some great souls/saints and their compassionate ways that this society was able to keep its ethical fibre and egalitarian ethos intact. Squatters were consistent threat to this intricate social fibre, and constantly ployed to dehumanise, degrade and divide people. Vajpeyis and Deshpandes therefore are the part of the system that was always threat to these egalitarian ways of this society and their self proclamation as “conscience-keepers of the country” is severely questioned. We surely don’t want them to ‘reclaim space’.

When Vajpeyis exalts Indians for the tradition of “dialogue and accommodation, interrogation and dissent, of public debate, innovation and scrutiny”…“Even gods have been questioned and some of them have been punished” he is again talking of two distinct, mutually exclusive, worlds. It is clear that this is about squatters and their camaraderie, this vaad samvaad parampara of the elite was very narrow and worked within select and limited frame, wherein the intruders were severely dealt. This sanctum sanctorum driven speculation of exaggerated selves and souls were of not of much interest, indeed absurd ideas and wasteful ways in most cases. The real nature of Indian society was working against these mediocrities and crude ways that constantly sought to engulf it. Romilla Thapar puts an interesting postulate in this context: if it was Buddha instead of Krishna how different Bhagvad Gita would be? Indeed that is the crux of the matter, this clever use of gods and rituals to trap people into squatter’s nefarious ways. Compassionate Mahabali (a king condemned by squatter’s clever ploy, hence myths and stories to cover up what is clearly a murder), Mahishasura (benevolent soul condemned as demon, therefore killed)…these are minor examples of the ways in which narrations were controlled to gain the primacy, meanwhile degrade society and severely infect collective conscience. Eviction of Buddha and negation of his amazing understanding was the beginning of the putrefaction as squatter tightened their grip, while societies that understood Buddhism gained immensely and progressed in this rational spiritual impetus that spread compassion and blossomed. Meanwhile, since common people had great respect for Buddha, he was conveniently converted to a god while his teachings were pushed aside with alacrity. It is the tradition that questioned the degrading ways of squatter, that very much precedes Buddha and can be traced to Upanishads, produced many saints and seers who have been the saviours. They helped to work on righteousness and moral fibre of this society, and kept the ethical ethos and its plural accommodative nature as the abiding ways and basic characteristics of the people. 

Deshpandes and Vajpeyis are not part of this egalitarian narration, they are masquerades who are working out their sickular liberal credential, trying to opportunistically distinguish from their brethren and sinisterly attempting to usurp the tolerant nature of society into squatter (i am acutely aware of some cultural lafangas who expertise in these and act as strict gatekeepers into hallowed circle). They are firmly tethered to the exploitative system that constantly tries to engulf Hinduism to putrid pits. That these people have firm control over narration and have amazing myth building expertise doesn’t really change the reality. Pleasing mullahs/elite muslims is part of this game, it gives them the credibility as liberal accommodating souls and claims to some great tradition that nobody seem much aware. It needs to be strongly reiterated that there is a huge gap between vulnerable muslims and elite muslims (that includes the regressive mullahs on one side and the liberal hedonists, known for their wanton ways, on the other). This is an elitist game hence the vulnerable people and their varying contexts are constantly pushed into these camps, therefore the elites play spokesperson. This camaraderie of elite acting as spokespersons –essentially feudal lords, is qualified as tolerance and celebrated among this clique. New entrants into political frame seem to have disturbed this cosy setup.

It is also not surprising that for the Vajpeyis of the world “the Emergency, Sikh Riots, demolition of Babri Masjid, Punjab terrorism, Nandigram violence and naxalite and state violence in tribal areas, Gujarat pogroms etc have all provoked writers and artists to protest against and condemn the damage done to social fabric, communal harmony and creative life” is the narration. This is the gist and a brave attempt on what troubles the sickular liberal elite. It is amazing and telling that nowhere there is a mention of caste related atrocities that severely degrades this society that is the root of most of the ills of the society. Apart from demeaning pits and traditions herein, there is blatant violence against the most vulnerable of Indian society, that encompasses all religions, indeed what is described as communal riots many times have seeds in this context. It is therefore much sinister and depraved than religious divisions. That this is conveniently ignored is what defines this nexus and shows the angst filled protagonists as fake. Statistically 27 acts of atrocity are perpetrated on dalits every day, 13 dalits murdered every week and 3dalit women raped every day…not to forget discriminations faced every living moment, as also biases from the so called democratic institutions, the lackadaisical law&order machinery, judiciary (Court movie quite effectively depicts this biases and clever nonviolent ways that is used to brutally subjugate voices, as also the entrenched discriminatory attitudes). All because some are born into something that is part of squatter’s cruel imagination, and that this is very much endorsed by Deshpandes and Vajpeyis is what makes the deceit compelling. Lakshmanpur Bathe massacre, Bathani tola massacre, Khairlanji massacre…the list is long, these brutal killings seemed to have awakened no one, probably not many are even aware. That is because angst on these matter will quite easily strip their mask, it is a big hole in the business of conscience keeping that the Indian elite are well aware of. 

On matters of customary rights

Thakur is a reference to feudal lords, this medieval reference are carried by some people as embellishment, an indication of superior self, an entitled achievement that has significant pointers in casteist pits. Bearing this crudeness, that detrimentally degrades social dealings, individual attitude towards others and a constant dread to egalitarian values is referred to as tolerance. It’s like the second amendment in US, the sacred rights to carry fire arms, an amazingly deviant society that has the history of slavery and brutal methods to control. Quite evidently this right is the extension of these brutal practises, and can be gauged by the people who support this as also heinous practise of trophy hunting. Indian elite have much in common with American far right, though they divide themselves neatly into liberal and traditional that they are tethered to squatter, and don’t mind revivalism on these matters, is what clinches the deal, it makes stray sacrifices worth it ounce. From these conservatives degrading pits they construct groovy liberal world. Hilariously some even masquerade as leftists, comrades in Bengal are known to be consuming moral renegades!

When Thakur dunked in the entitled reference makes his anachronistic presence into modernity this act is referred to as stellar representation of plurality, the crude nuances emanating from this is celebrated as tradition and culture, hence diversity. Now when Thakur works his way into judiciary, with amazing ease that comes to anyone who has heightened awareness of social norms and traditions, the adherence and benefits, concomitantly amazing lack of moral bearings or ethical contexts in this insistence of debauched framework, then we have Justice Thakur. Justice Thakur is heights of oxymoron if there is any, makes it compelling when he is the judge at Supreme Court. It’s like Saint Hitler beatified by Pope. Truly contemptuous, my lord. Now that we know our protagonist let’s get into the crux of the matter, it so happened that the executive officer of SriPadmanabhaSwamy Temple at Thiruvanthapuram (a conservative estimate of hidden treasure, that was recently found in this temple, puts it at a value close to 1.2 lakh crore Rupees or US$18 billion. If the antique and cultural value were taken into account these assets could be worth ten times the current market price. Now that is only one temple in small state called Kerala. Meanwhile India languishes at 135^th rank in UNDP HDI index. It is a miracle when you juxtapose these. Now the site has shifted to Business, Media, Politics and ofcourse Judiciary…essentially wherever there is money, power and yes ambiguous ethical standards and vague ideas on competence. IPL is a minor billion dollar enterprise in this context) was asked to “not be carried away ideologies, revolutionaries and politics” when dealing with Supreme Court. Clearly, judges (reigning lords) of SC, HC or even session’s court don’t have the right to ask what anybody should speak or not, significantly the insinuations are reflection of mindset and attitude of the judge concerned, this is strong arm tactics and a severe violation of individual’s right to express. What makes it shocking is that this violation is happening right in the space that is supposed to dispense justice. This arrogance is stark reminder of forces that seeks to quell voices of people. Indian judiciary is known for its gross incompetence, they have given lots of misery to the common people in the last many deacdes, it is also not unknown that they reflect their bias towards to the powerful and mighty. There are multitudes of cases where they are found to be amazingly incompetent, this after decades of lassitude procedures and lackadaisical ways of dealing, it is indeed the determination of the victims (and sacrifices they make) that the cases somehow reaches its logical conclusions. Recently after almost twenty years (that is like one generation later, in the meanwhile mylords have come and gone enjoyed the power and luxury, and ofcourse ‘settled’ their progenies –who sometimes champion higher causes depending on the lick so on) Uphaar case verdict grossly favoured the powerful, the absurdity is mind-blowing. Now this is high profile case as it is based in Delhi and exposed to constant media attention there are cases and cases that expose these amazingly arrogant but ignorantly assured mylords. They are so immune to people’s misery that it makes me wonder whether they are human beings, then I realise it is one of the stellar qualities that one assumes when placed in entitled surroundings very much assured by squatter’s depraved logic. This is what makes them so insularly cruel. Recently, the heinous massacre of Khairlanji was found to be wanting on perpetrators that this happened to the most vulnerable section of Indian society. That Thakurs of the world are congenitally incapable to see these “ideologies and politics” and inhuman “revolutionary” zeal herein is telling. Most importantly the judiciary should have by now evicted squatters from the temple precincts, this is a discriminatory occupation and gives legitimacy to exploitative framework, instead of taking steps to terminate these they ironically, in a shocking case of injustice and absolute lack of awareness of the social context and implications herein, gave all the rights to these perpetrators. This is what happened in Chidambaram temple. Incidentally, it is pertinent to note here that the meaning of the term ‘descent’ has been expanded to include ‘discrimination based on caste’ by the general recommendation number 29, the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination (ICERD) 1969. Indian judiciary will do well to remember that it is a signatory to that convention along with more than 170 other countries.       

  

It is clear that the upper crust of Indian judicial system is conscripted from well-entrenched bourgeoisie evolved over hegemony of centuries. The elites are known to use nuanced language, that may imply that they are modern, while the brethren in the lower courts are known to be crudely feudal and primitively assured, savour this enlightened view “Hindu scriptures do not allow upper caste men to touch a low caste woman, the accused could not have raped the Dalit victim”, this is not a rare instance nor the attitude uncommon. Indian legal luminaries have this constant itch to express their deviant views wherein their mandate is to look at the facts, understand the context, show compassion, deal sensitively and dispense justice in all its fairness. But no, the characteristic arrogance and pupating egotism will have to express, the kind of uttering is sometimes so shocking that it numbs. This is our judicial system, and hilariously despite crude ways they are so much assured of their pontificating, as if it is their god given right and our fate. This is insidiously deviant, and that it thrives under democratic institution is a disgrace.

Coming back to the case at hand, Thakur’s rant was in reaction to the officer taking exception to ‘even’ half an hour slot given to the royal family every morning to exclusively enter the temple. The officer reminded Thakur that this practise was reminiscent of social evil of untouchability of past era.  This mylord saw as a threat hence necessary strictures. It is known that institution ridden with elitist and caste/class privileges frequently reverts to reactionary instances. Feudal and discriminatory institution are carried on with impunity under the garb of tradition, reminiscent of hoary past and severely denting democratic norms, many times making these values meaningless. Not a moment or instance of such demeaning practises should be allowed, indeed it is duty of the judiciary to enforce these if the legislature and executive fail. Clearly the institutions have failed as is reflected from degradations and apathy, and judiciary is reduced to defend puritan confines. Likes of Thakur are a blot on judiciary. Slant in reporting by media accentuates this, it is camaraderie in action, from this pits they look for legitimacy.  Yogi Berra, once said “The future ain’t what it used to be.” This blogger says the past ain’t what it used to be. They have constructed the past with a firm grip on narration and therefore use it for contemporary benefit as also show themselves benevolent. 

        

It is in this context that though, this blogger agrees with the protests by the writers against silencing of dissenting voices by thugs, has reservations. Nayantara Sahgal undoubtedly has a point and she ofcourse is a venerable legitimate voice but these deterioration she is pointing to and attributing to were always present. Ironically she might even be part of it, and significant reason for thrive. Not that I expect writers to be professional protesters (as they are accused for selective outbursts, this is a trick to silence writers) but yes strong dissent is in line. I haven’t really seen this in matters that have severely degraded the society. Indeed I feel as if I have stumbled into some virgin forest inhabited by long lost cannibalistic tribe assured of its superior place in the universe, strange rituals they perform while some act conscience objector as they partake the feast, contributing to the diversity and amiable tolerance.           

It is not tolerance but shared misery that is core to India’s survival

President Mukherjee seemed to have made a stirring appeal in the aftermath of deteriorating situation in UP, made worse by opportunistic politicians and degrading climate that predates any election, in this case a prominent neighbouring state. On a normal day in the dominant narration this is quite pertinent, indeed statesman like, appeal. However this blogger is not here to point out the normal and will make every effort to rip of the mask of misery spewing diversity, degrading plurality and fatalistic tolerance that defines the core of India that is sought to be asserted by the powerbrokers, the pretentious dominant elite, who have a firm grip over the narration in its garb of universalism exuding liberal tone. This will not be allowed to be passed, nor the indication of egalitarians nature of society or that the core of the society is compassion driven. No that is not going to happen, I can assure every reader of this blog on that. The narration will be closely scrutinised.

Indian villages are the worst sites of human degradation, hapless –sometimes genuinely nice people, are trapped in squatter’s degradation that divides the society and seek to tarnish even the souls of people. It is as sinister, and the tentacles go quite deep, emerging at the most opportune moments as attitude and choices. This skewed tradition and the crooked culture that originates herein is the cause of almost all the problems that Indians face. They create an amazing insular set of human beings who seek to strengthen their brethren feelings within the pits, in this conception others are either to fawn or to subjugate depending on where you are located in this crude world, the reason why squatter who hoisted themselves at the top of the heap generally carry essential features of humbleness that comes with assuredness of entitled fate. Dominant narration and control over policy making has seen to these being reflected in over wider array of institutions, hence these cancerous degradations.  

In the effort on social mobility and acceptance in the crudely discriminatory world, the lower sections tend to show fervency towards squatter’s, they seek zealous adherence as atonement of their misery. Meanwhile, as the society is being divided into pits and constantly feuding superiority egotisms that strive to take on the other group, they constantly discriminate/degrade others. These others are dealt with, what is described as stellar qualities of tolerance, essentially fatalism and sedate attitude towards horrendous ways that is sought to be cloaked in liberal worldview of tolerance! Very soon the elite manipulate frogs in the squatter’s well with much ease for their nefarious purpose, hence the target is now hapless vulnerable Muslims, who quite ironically share more in common with the hate induced perpetrators than the wily people orchestrating. When Gandhi sought to represent Hindus he was unwittingly (or maybe not) consolidating these forces, his reference to harijan was a tenacious attempt at this dubious understanding of tolerance (as much as Khilafath was consolidation of common muslims under elite muslims, putting seeds of division among common people) that accentuated misery through status quo and froze hindus under squatter’s conception and its sinister grip. The lynch mob is reflection of that enthusiasm. In quieter times they go back to cannibalising each other, in the varying degree of "pride, prejudice and preference". These vibrant and encompassing ways were emphasised as idea of India. Squatter’s therefore have been always been a threat to idea of India. Communalism is only variant form of casteism, it is the channelization of crude ways to a newer target, and that muslims have an international narration as also in the changing global scenario vicious varieties are always on the lookout, give them the traction that liberal squatters latch on to. There is also an intonation that one shouldn’t get personal. This decency is expected when one is placed in civilised surroundings, as also in the frame of debates in egalitarian setting. That they carry casteist identity, references and debauched ways then expect not to get personal is asking for bit too much. It is personal, indeed it is very personal. There was a war against Nazis, they were chased out and accounted for even after decades when some of them were infirm octogenarian. It was very personal and each one sent to jail. People with casteist surnames are part of conception that is a serious threat to the society, the degrading ways of society and deviant nature of democratic institutions can be traced to dominant hold of squatters over narration through official machinery and feudal structures. They cannot and shouldn’t be allowed to hide under hindu religion and equate with other religions hence claim religious rights and freedom. Mukherjees and camaraderie herein are present in almost all the institutions that are seeking to thrive under democratic garb and market competitiveness. They have infected this society into a sedatory reflection of themselves, hence this overwhelming mediocrity and lackadaisical ways as most fight with demeaning conception meanwhile wasting themselves and their competence. Recent studies have shown that holocaust victims have passed their misery to the next generations, these cataclysmic atrocities leave a deep imprints. Evicting casteist references and camaraderie filled angst is when the core values of this society can be safeguarded.

Recently I was watching a TVprogram (by Ravish Kumar, he is quite perceptive) on electorates of Bihar, the poorer sections were being asked their opinion so on. When asked about their names they all referred to non-casteist surname, this is what makes Mukherjees, Mishras, Trivedis, Sardesais, Iyers…so on easier in their ways. From this elevated selves the traction on sickularism is compelling, as hedonism adds to the charm while non-vegetarianism takes it to amazing heights of tolerance and compassion that a tribal man can never even think of replicating. There is a compelling “bania-squatter” nexus that is brushed under, the good omen harbingers has seen to a skewed narration of the news, ofcourse patronising ways withstanding. Casteism is the scourge of this society and unless it is annihilated this society will just keep cannibalising itself. I recall when I was a kid there was this Santhoshi matha ka paat, the one done every Friday by the womenfolk when they keep fast also don’t eat bitter stuff…whatever the nonsense I have no problem (faith is a subtle matter that anyone connected to squatter will rarely understand). But the wily squatters weave their net, it is constantly reminded during the prayers that “brahmin ke bachon ko bhoj karaye”, and here I was in a temple trying to locate the progenies as the scoundrel squatter arranged rather gleefully, meanwhile not very far malnourished neglected kids languished at the footstep of the temple with vacant looking parents. Ofcourse we are also aware of tons of waste in disgusting rituals, that is celebrated as tradition in mainstream media and movies (it is in this context that I hold that IIFT should be privatised or closed down, why should tax payers money is being used for these arrogant people). This is the core value of this society, and yes Mukherjees are very much part of the problem, as also those who are showing compassionate intent. It’s a farce. What Atman what Brahman?! This kind of superficial understanding of tolerance, pluralism and diversity is unacceptable; this misery giving narration has gone on for too long.    

     

Congratulating the government: This blogger congratulate the NDA government for the steps taken towards climate change mitigation. Mr. Modi is known to be keen and foresighted on matters of renewable sources of energy. Gujarat’s achievement on solar energy is quite pertinent here. 

Watch Martian !!

This is another must watch movie, a rather accurate take on Mars, the 3D impact makes it amazing. It is a must watch for school/college students, the emphasis on logic, laws of physics so on is important way of dealing situations, the basis of development and progress. The kind of nonsense that keeps happening around, and the usual bunch of manipulators, market slickness, traditions, perceptions…general deteriorations. Not that this was an ideal society in any way, far from it, I am doing a comparison with other countries and matters related to pursuit of excellence so on. Watching Martian was an exhilarating experience. It is an assertion of faith in humanity and possibilities herein. It also reiterates how precious planet Earth is!! 

People involved in these amazing pursuits cannot be frogs in the well –that distinguishes oneself in pits of crude traditions and primitive ideas. These  degradations are contexts of people who mindlessly follow or do minor/incremental changes…the one ISRO does, efficiently so. The reason why the former ISRO head (also accused of corruption charges) dunks in casteist pits while another one expertise in voodoo acts…to make it hilarious these dimwits have problem with each other! These are “scientists” of this godforsaken society (long time back, I recall, many ISRO “scientists” participated in rituals to propitiate gods to give them sons!!). New challenges need path breaking innovations and ideas, which undoubtedly is product of mindset and attitude that seeks to challenge existing notions. It is not providence nor is it a blessing from god-knows-where (and the slick sentiment seekers and profiteers herein). Logic is not a piecemeal thing nor is it a useable entity, it is a way of thinking and an attitude. It creates and sustains tradition of excellence. People who live in entitled world (and crude framework that sustains these) have much to thank for their position, than calibre, hence these nonsenses. In the harshness of reality it is not the propitiating that counts but logic and application of mind. For application of mind, reading and learning is important not blessing before exams or launching of a satellite. They have reduced learning to some kind of ritual and not as a way to understand, know and question.      

   

 Post script: Monday morning show is the best time to watch movies, no crowd, no crap, it’s almost like a private screening, and its cheap too…ah the charm of it.

Imposing way of life on others

Why is there a ban on meat/butchery and liquor today? Gandhi jayanthi is being celebrated is a nice thing; afterall he was one of the tallest leaders who strived to bring in morality into politics. But what has vegetarianism to do with celebration, as also being blatantly enforced with the use of State machinery? This framework and the intent/attitude behind these are the beginning of the problems; the fundamentalists are only extending/consolidating these, soon State is replaced by vigilante lumpens. This is a grievous matter and an assault on individual liberty and culinary choices, not to mention it being amazingly undemocratic. Further, the purifying intent that is associated with these celebrations is severely questioned. That this is the elevated way of life hence must be imposed, even if it is for a day, is what makes its reprehensible. Importantly, the insistence on vegetarianism, within a framework that is deeply inegalitarian and crude, makes it a sham. It is power play and debauchery at work. That this society has horrendous history of barbarity when it comes to primitive squatter’s ways of life, imposing and dealings herein needs to be emphasised and put into context. Also the fact that these matters have not been questioned or challenged shows the firm grip on narration by those entrenched in squatter’s and their dubious ways. Nobody can or should be allowed to impose on anyone’s eating habits. Most importantly to classify Hindus as vegetarians is questioned, and will be resisted. Indeed, Gandhians, if they truly believe in human rights, must protest and see that vegetarianism is not imposed. That, they haven’t for last many decades only goes on to prove what was always suspected.

Then there are hedonist marketers who seem to have taken non vegetarianism to a level of most enlightened expression of liberty, the one symbolising firm hinge on modernity. So according to this worldview non vegetarianism is liberalism personified, many feudal lords take these shortcuts to measure up to the West. Liberal sickulars too usurp these to distinguish themselves from traditional squatters, though sticking to vegetarianism does have an advantage in conservative section as also those tethered to squatter as mobility aspiration. The amount of non-vegetarian/red meat driven culinary programs that seeks to copy West (specifically USA, India being a vassal state in this conception) is amazing, and many times repulsive, as they try to extend the craving into impossibly cruder levels. It only shows how much they are unhinged from the society as also demented ways of dealing, a characteristic immunity to degrading environment and dwindling surrounding. These competing forces can only create depravity as they up the ante on morality and individualism. Control of narration is where the power is, squatters work it with purifying reasons for morality while marketer push in the hedonism as individual expression.

Post script: sometimes the vegetarian puritanism can take unfortunate turns that may even make some incapable to take on new ways of understanding or pursue truth, it becomes handicap to growth. Few years back I was on a nature walk with a group, I was speaking on the strength of elephant trunk so on and was explaining an amazing program in one of the TV channel where they do detailed post mortem on dead animals to understand them better, cutting into half and going into minute details, explanation so on, it’s a compelling watch. I mentioned this to the group, one lady started showing signs of disgust and fainting. I had to drop the topic, what was an interesting area of discussion was cut short, probably banned! The impact of this mindset is severe and telling as lack of serious documentation and study of other species, these were negated in this puritan enthusiasm and horrendous upper mobility crave. A land with amazingly variant biodiversity is dependent on outsiders for knowledge and initiatives.    

Reservation of jobs in private sector

The issue of reservation is coming to the centre stage, as some are flexing their muscles without as much as an awareness of social context or contemporary reality. Meanwhile the matter of reservation has been hijacked by spurious people masquerading as messiah of marginalized. Undoubtedly the intent of reservation is now corrupted and degraded, working on political expediency and clout rather than any logical or compassionate reasons. It is no longer the support the state extends to the marginalised and exploited, and is mangled beyond its original intentions. The issue of reservation should be revisited, as also the idea of merit, and a comprehensive debate and policy re-evaluation is needed. Clearly it is not reaching the people for whom it is intended. 

As is the case in India most things are manipulated or kept subjective, rarely do important issues affecting common people get debated in its logics or entirety, as also the policy makers carry the biases and prejudices of increasingly polarising views hence look for short term gains. Society pays the price of these quick fixes as it adds to the miseries. There is no doubt that reservations is indispensible in a crudely oppressive society like India, where discriminations are rife and nepotism a way of life, but the way reservation is being disseminated has to be revisited. As is the case these significant issues doesn’t get discussed, due to clout and threats, in a logical manner indicating the calibre of Indian society, the arbitrators and its elites. Democracy seems to be accentuating the mess rather than finding solutions, it is therefore giving leeway to manipulators hence powerful. It is in this uncouth context that likes of Hardik Patel has significance, he is bulldozing an argument that is quite pertinent, his mode acutely contemporary. Mediocre Indians need these necessary anti-thesis, violent/threatening posturing to their lackadaisical ways. It is clear that he is pushed by some powerful people, and surely has mass support and it is set to grow as it traps the angst of urban youth. Hardik Patel is in for a long haul, and this could be game changer in context to the debate on reservation. Meanwhile opportunist sickular liberals too are exaggerating and siding with this movement as it gives them gravy points against traditional squatters. Casteism, and its horror, in this depraved world has high value as it seeks to feed the mullah, it keeps Hindus divided. It is an amazing conception that gives the sickulars an extra charm in their uncouthness as they negotiate market hedonism and liberal values (indeed, likes of Kasthuri&Sons have taken it to philosophical level in their characteristic semantic jugglery, always the torchbearers of miserable world).  

Discrimination is an overwhelming Indian reality, and these get reflected in the lack of path breaking policy changes that seeks to assuage miseries of common people trapped in horrendous realities for centuries and break the hold of crude form of traditions and oppression. The leaders were not only enmeshed in this feudalistic notions but actively pandered to the powerful. Lack of land reforms and effective legal redressal falls into these, hence the feudal structure was kept intact as also the crude traditions. Changes, if ever, were due to exigencies and rarely for egalitarian reasons. Reservation though a path breaking idea has been reduced to another manipulation and misery. This nature of society is the product of uncouth ways of elite section, these barbarians kept discriminative divisions and miseries alive, played on with it by keeping people at loggerheads as also usurping the benefits. They will carry on as long as they benefit, this will go on forever as they have the control over the narration. As mentioned uncouth sickular liberal squatters and traditional squatter belong to the same depraved context, they will perpetuate the misery as it benefits them meanwhile hiding their mediocrity.

Though I am not entirely against reservation, as also caste is significant factor for discrimination and oppression, known too is the caste-class collapse. There are also successful and commendable initiatives to train and absorb people with talents from the oppressed sections, government should commend these efforts by private firms as also provide tax rebates for such efforts. It is in this context that this blogger call upon the MNC investing in India to strongly negate the discriminative nature of Indian society and uphold moral values. There should be zero tolerance for casteist references (unless ofcourse it is an effort to bring in the context of discrimination). Casteist surname doesn’t have any place in civilised world; this unethical attempt at camaraderie shouldn’t be tolerated in enlightened surroundings. These primitive references are carried by the section that is part of the debauched nature of the society and seek to perpetuate these. MNC should set precedence by preventing these primitive people to enter their precincts. Don’t allow the muck to come in. People with casteist primitive and feudal patriarchy references should not be considered for a job. 

CNN must decide

CNN is a reputed USA based international TV channel. CNN has a sister concern in India called CNN-IBN, complicated by Reliance presence. Now CNN-IBN has a sister concern Hindi news TV channel called IBN-7. This blogger doesn’t know why media has sisterly emotions but I do understand that in the world of sisterhood a sister’s sister is a sister, atleast that is how it works. So CNN should be concerned how its name is being used, or tarnished in this case. As pointed earlier Indians tend to showcase their high culture morphing their primitive self into internationally accepted liberal pointers and other modernity nuances. The lalas control the media i.e. specific aim of multiplying money, you will find them wherever there is easy money, it is an aspiration model that is hereditarily transferred with all its regressive framework intact, mistaken for entrepreneurial mind/skills, now working out it’s depravity as StartUp touts. StartUp can only take you up, I say!! Ofcourse with more money there is enmeshed faith of direct blessing from myriad gods, ideas related to one’s position vis-à-vis world as also necessary humbleness to deal with heightened self, sprouts in this acceptance, in this relinquish of oneself to higher forces at work. They showcase all right note and behaviour during prime time (in TV channels, while in print media the main columns), as most people watch (read) but continue their nefarious acts in the sidelines. These are incorrigible barbarians, and that they so effortlessly work it in the liberal frame is what makes it compelling.

Right about 11am (as also 2pm) is the time when they get into the act. All kinds of charlatans are presented for religious and otherworldly concerns and guidance. They work on to domesticate bad omen into purring pet, as they negotiate providence towards path of material rich and favour. They carry amazing humbleness and softness of presence, as they guide to higher level of crudeness. Many of the esteemed tradition and culture contexts emanate from these pits, as they grip the godforsaken society. These charlatans range from ludicrous to pity, it will make anyone cringe and nauseated but not our lalas (surely helped by IIT-IIM business model of multiplying money). Specifically coming to IBN7, it was suggested that to overcome bad fortune and loss in business “you must feed brahmins” and other nonsense that seeks to exalt squatter’s framework. Ofcourse lalas preference for squatters is known as you survey Indian media and its influence. This blogger had called upon the international community, particularly concerned ones (doesn’t include Murdoch and his FOX claptrap, they are already showing their presence in India, as it deteriorates further. Mediocre Indian elite are extremely good at telling –with ever limiting vocabulary, what to eat/wear lifestyle so on. Murdoch, if he has the decency, must answer the issues raised by Pope) to scrutinise depraved Indians more seriously. Don’t be taken in by their Gandhian peace loving charm and liberal cleverness, these are the worst of the kind hence should be dealt accordingly and with necessary caution. There is nothing eastern mysticism here, nor anything complex in this debauchery. This blogger had called upon reputed columnist to desist from contributing to Indian newspapers and magazines, it is in the same context I call upon CNN. CNN therefore owes an explanation on allowing these depraved people to use its name. They must plug these shortcuts to credibility that primitive Indians so desperately seek.                  

The criminal act of Volkswagen

It’s amazing how people with huge amount of money and technical knowhow stoop to multiply money, in this case fully aware that these will lead further deterioration of air quality, resulting in serious health issues, causing deaths as also environmental degradation. Air pollution kills millions of people and maims many more. It is the direct and indirect cause for heart attacks, strokes, asthma, lung and bladder cancers, low birth weight, low verbal IQ, poor memory and attention among children, faster cognitive decline in older people and – recent studies suggest – a link with the earlier onset of dementia. This blogger too had started to face adverse effects of severe air quality deterioration (as also constantly exposed to high levels of noise), as I lived next to a crowded traffic junction (in pits of Delhi) as also later used to commute in two wheeler in one of the most bleak air quality condition (the notorious Bengaluru traffic) unleashed by ‘development’ through personal cars and traffic jams, thankfully I moved to cleaner town, in the last few years symptoms of being exposed to pollutants have subsided but I still get wheezing sometimes. In the last many years India has seen explosion of brands of cars. The kind of marketing strategy followed by these billion dollar companies clearly indicates that people who are getting the benefits of market driven economy are necessarily low on intelligence, hence these amazingly juveniles ads to make them take decisions on buying these luxury products in an essentially impoverished country. It is also conceivable that the high end manipulators get associated with these money bags, essentially these are innovative ways of transferring money among the elite and consolidate their hold over people. In return lax laws and adherence standards are worked out for convenience of the company. MNC are also known to encourage these ethical laxities as they seek to outdo their competition to multiply money, kickback is a common reference. In many instances MNCs have no option as the laws are kept subjective and manipulateable, it is a very special game played out by top level bureaucrats, politicians and marketers. Advertisement in this context is quite a harmless way of distribution of money, it also keeps the market media narration compelling and manipulateable as also helps sustain the development thrive in semblance of professionalism. It is therefore no at all surprising that some amazingly crude people get richer and richer, as the society in general degrades, prejudices and discrimination gets consolidated.

Germany is known for its excellence in engineering and high end machinery, when you have calibre to innovate and a mindset to excel it is rare to go for manipulation and short term gains. It is inconceivable, therefore, shocking that Volkswagen was caught rigging its pollution tests, and that too in a highly sophisticated manner. It reminds me of doping by top class athletes. It tends to break the trust, an utter disbelief to begin with turns into anger, why would anyone that too cash rich and extremely talented commit such criminal acts, to make it worse, put the lives of people at risk? It must be the arrogance of invincibility, as also the constant urge to stay ahead of competition, earn more than competitors –a reason for existence in some circle. Crude form of capitalism has brought in the worse among the best people. That is what is sad about this incident.

Now if a multibillion dollar and a reputed company like Volkswagen can do it in US, where the laws are stringent and punishment severe, then think what all they might be doing in countries like India where laws are kept lax, punishments in the realm of subjective perceptions as also easy availability of battery of high end manipulators ready to twist/divert the narration to the requirements (indeed the intense competition is in this ability to manipulate!! Sophistication herein is mistaken by some as signs of service industry gigantism). Now if Volkswagen is doing it then what prevents its competitors from not doing it? India is seen as a huge market for automobile industry, hence it is conceivable that unscrupulous practises could be used to stay ahead of the race and multiply money. This blogger has reason to suspect that these criminal acts (and negligence) must be common practice across the board. Having experienced severe forms of air pollution, caused by automobiles, I am not ready to believe that they are adhering to stringent standards.

My suspicion is further strengthened by the lackadaisical concern for Volkswagen case by Indian market media, it is not surprising since revenue from stupid car ads is their roji roti, even BBC was seen to be quite mild towards car manufacturers. This is a serious issue and has severe ramification on air quality standards therefore health concerns of citizens. Government should have immediately taken cognisance of these developments and asked for stringent testing of all the brands of four wheelers manufacturers in the market.

Post script: if Google was an Indian company how would it expand its market? To start with, it is difficult to conceive Google to be an Indian company, cutting edge innovations or the mindset needed for these rarely thrive in this part of the world. But still, Google would diversify into Google Mining & Property developer, Google jewelers, Google life insurance so on…it seems that Google, or for that matter Apple, doesn’t know how to multiply money!!                                                    

Seriously Tharoor? You must be kidding.

   Tharoor is someone one could have taken seriously a decade back, he had some enviable collection of books in his name, respected for his views and a high profile job at UN and so on. He was seen as a blue eyed boy of the establishment, he capitalised on it quite well, and must add may have exaggerated his spread and reach, he contested UN Secretary General’s election –intriguingly the Indian government decided to throw its weight in his support, predictably he lost to Ban Ki Moon. Since then he was parachuted as Congress candidate into election and won twice, meanwhile the cricket ka keeda got him enmeshed into opportunism for easy money, market media exaggerations saw him inflate himself (around the time when Crude woman nodded to ZK and ZK nodded back, con couple have sighted their next target!!) hence became an easy fodder for manipulators, thus began his compelling downfall. Happenings in his personal life seems murkier than lakes of Bengaluru, since it is under investigation it’s not right to comment, but there is something not quite right.

In the meanwhile his conduct, his views so on has given the measure of him. This blogger doesn’t really have to watch his viral video to conclude what it is all about. This questioning Britain over its colonial exploitations is a joke, on two accounts, one, colonial power is expected to colonise and exploit (is that a surprise?). Secondly, putting these exploitations into the depraved realities of Indian society makes it a study on irony if not hypocrisy. Meanwhile he has praise for Indian mercenary soldiers fighting the cause of colonial power but doesn’t have anything for INA is the reflection of pathetic attitude of these conniving people. They try to squiggle benefits from dominant narration that looks charming from western perspective. How to bulldoze these into Indian narration is the constant strive of this section, must add with considerable success. INA must be brought to its rightful position as creator and guide of Indian defence force. Subash Chandra Bose is undoubtedly the father of Indian Defence force, and should have his picture prominently placed in every defence establishment, indeed his statue should be erected at India gate.       

   

Tharoor, like his benevolence exuding bourgeoisie colleagues, follow the same pattern (Macaulay’s bastards), that is, fawning for British, suiting the narration to these dominating realities with semantic dexterity, and an obsessive liking for stupid game called cricket, as they seek to represent Indians from these high pedestals. They position themselves as gentlemen in their ways and dealings, always hitting the fairness pointers to consolidate these. This reparation issue is a clever political ploy to elevate oneself as voice of Indians, the aggrieved Indian (ofcourse holding on to his drink!), wherein it’s clear that his arguments are facetious when put in Indian context and debauched realities that he is undoubtedly part of. The problem here is those who preach like to stake their moral position as far away from social context as possible. This has been the constant endeavour of Indian elite, particularly those striving on sickularism liberal framework. They constantly hinge themselves on western pointers of egalitarian values and appear as kindred souls, concerned of wellbeing of suffering souls around the world so on. They therefore have compelling hold on western audience as Indian mystical representation of compassion.

The other day I caught some glimpse of his interview with Thappar, needless to say I don’t watch these more than few minutes. It needs immense patience as also once you got the measure of the fellow it falls into predictable pattern, hence a waste of time. I am writing these since it shows the mindset of these people, the claim of liberal and higher moral ground is so hilariously fallacious, as also a revelation on wider ways of the sickular society. In this context Tharoor is a meaty catch (pun intended). So Tharoor was asked about the meat ban. Being a vegetarian but having spent lots of time in West, he had the tutored nuance of taking high moral grounds that seek to accentuate the mistake his uncouth fundamentalist brethren’s make, meanwhile placing himself in desirable frame. Tharoor as expected hinged himself firmly on ‘choice’ framework. Though it sounds assertion of liberty but is a well-accepted code for market driven egalitarianism and wonderful hedonist world herein. An oxymoron anyway you look at it. That likes of Tharoor is not different from tradition seeking Hindu fundamentalist, and that both are firmly entrenched in squatter’s primitiveness is established as he unravels himself. Tharoor supports the discriminatory verdict of SC to declare Haridwar and Rishikesh as vegetarian zones. This ruling should be challenged; it clearly doesn’t stand the scrutiny of natural justice as also logic. Frankly I wasn’t aware of these but now that I am aware will make it a point to buy chicken tandoori from Dehradun or somewhere and take it to Haridwar. Tharoor says “you have to keep the sanctity of the place”. Really and who told our ever-purifying-seeking-man that vegetarianism is what defines a temple or sanctity herein, or that Hindus are vegetarian? And shockingly that it need to be imposed on whole town. This is imposition of squatter’s depraved puritanism on others and will be resisted. Most importantly the sanctity of the temple can only be restored if squatters are evicted from the premise. Who gave them these traditional rights? This is discrimination of human rights and will have to be stopped, and severely dealt by the rule of law. Few centuries back squatter temples were site of untold misery and barbarism on common people. That this debauchery is continued and the framework supported is what makes this a savage society. Evicting squatter from temple premise is an unfinished business. This is the root of the rot, it sustains and nourishes amazingly crude worldviews and attitude that has severely degraded this society. Temple, as is with any site that seeks to represent god, should be necessarily be site that reflect values of kindness and compassion, that is the least requirement of any religious site. That this is absent in temples, and is replicated as attitude and ways of life among hapless people is what makes Indians uniquely barbaric. The cannibalistic nature of Indian society and everything rotten that emanates from this can be traced to squatter’s temple. Any temple that doesn’t reflect egalitarian values should be demolished, that is how the sanctity can be restored, if sanctity is what matters. That Tharoor is firmly tethered to debauched world of squatters is clear from his nonsensical utterings, he takes it to the next level by comparing to crudest possible example that is of the Saudis, arguably the sickest society on the face of earth. When push comes to shove liberal sickulars and fundamentalist squatters will reflect each other’s depravity, tethered to squatter as Siamese twin, they struggle to distinguish. They have kept the perception of separateness in their habitual semantic jugglery and clever manipulative ways, and usurp benefits in whatever possible manner in neat portions. The recent developments, as fundamentalist squatters gain in strength, have put them in existential quandary. The mask is slipping. Tharoor makes a valiant effort, he says “Yes we too had ban on meat, on occasions, but these were never imposed strictly”. How cute, the fellow is spilling beans on what made liberal sickular bourgeoisie function all these decades. You make laws (in most cases carried from where the britishers left) not to follow it seriously, these lackadaisical ways are what made the lives of people miserable while the elite went in for the loot. Crony capitalism, nepotism and general apathy over plight of people can be traced to these attitudes.

Government, for that matter anyone, has no business to decide what anyone should eat or shouldn’t eat (except ofcourse what is protected under wildlife protection act). Not even for a single day or a moment. Meanwhile animal rights laws should be followed stringently. This game between liberal sickular squatters and traditional squatters has severely degraded the society and made the mockery of democracy. The true and liberating nature of Hinduism has been suppressed, though it does exist away from these debaucheries, everything good about this society can be traced to this idea of India, but it is under tremendous threat. It is unfortunate that common people too have been trapped into squatter’s debauchery and seems to have accepted these as fate, as a way out from their miserable lives. They have dug themselves into pits and seek security within this ever putrefying world. That in short is what makes this society amazingly deviant and increasingly dangerous, proud in its own wretchedness, assured of its entitled world and elevated place in the universe. Clearly claims of high culture are nothing but belch of rot.               

                                       

Winnowing in the start-up wind

There is a new revolution underway, it is being referred to as Start Ups, and Bengaluru seems to be the epicentre, atleast in India. Now if the startups are substantial in its idea and intent then it’s worth noting, otherwise this hoopla is misplaced. Some people are only trying to fill in the gaps that the new technological devices have unleashed. Those who are aware of these and have the wherewithal will work it out to multiply the money. It is true that some of them do create set ups that increase/improve convenience so on. These opportunities for easy money should be placed in its context. And I dare say many of these are but sophisticated touts, a rather sanitised jugaad. They can carry on but when meritorious engineers and research student shift their attentions to these then it need to be scrutinised. The culture of making money by whatever means, more money indications of god’s favour (hence some cut to temple) gets consolidated, money therefore is the indicator of merit, therefore easy mobility to respect and power. The reason why not many are interested in dedicated research or sustained inquisitiveness that education provides. Indeed education is seen as only a conduit to money making enterprises.  

Innovation is an essential feature of vibrant society but within the framework of seeking opportunities for easy money it is a rather limited concept. In an increasingly moribund society like India ideas of innovation falls into set pattern, it lacks passion or sustained interest in knowledge building, though it has constant claim of high culture of knowledge and enquiry. There is some truth to the claim but these were far and rare, as also there was no tradition of consolidating these nor were based on egalitarian values. Indeed one can assert that best of tradition worked with the Buddhist, and this is the cradle of Indian philosophy that carries a tradition that predates and persistently negates squatter manipulation. The reason why Nalanda, Takshashila, as also worthy scholars of ancient India, were mostly part of Buddhist framework, as also there began a tradition of consolidation and dissemination of knowledge and thoughts. This was an attempt on framework of excellence in a society that was slipping into primitiveness and crassness. What is paraded as contemporary Hinduism is negation of these egalitarian values, it is squatter’s degraded world that is being sought to be consolidated and equated with other religions, hence clever claim for religious rights and expression. Wherein, these were constant threat to Hinduism itself and product of feudal power. Secularism, as is understood by Indians is strident negation of squatter, and strive for a compassionate and encompassing world view. It is to be noted that in the last many decades these ideas have weakened as squatter sickularists –hinging on market liberalism, and right wing –hinging on squatter traditions, have been tail spinning the society for power grab. The general deterioration in society can be traced to these manipulations; it lacks egalitarian or ethical values.       

           

Innovations therefore are for short term gains and hinges on bigger changes that is unleashed from, as it is for an observer, an alien world; hence these startups are only minor novelties, scrambling akin to gold rush of the Wild West. Very soon the gold in cave is depleted and rush is over, what we are left is a ghost town, akin to dot com bubble burst. Startups are refreshing additions but my concern here is that in the rush for these short term easy money some people with huge potential for research and intelligence, for developing path breaking theories and ideas are squandering, and seeking these incremental roles/gains firmly hinged on short term money and gains. This is celebrated, and excited commentary, brings in skewed understanding of success in this mediocre thriving society. Money greed is overwhelming as it comes with ideas of being blessed, hence mobility and power, therefore the mindset for somehow grab is internalised. The situation becomes grievous since unique problems of India need innovative solutions, and not replication of west or waiting for ideas from contexts that has nothing in common. Innovation needs not only an exceptional technical expertise that constantly seeks to improve but more importantly an awareness and empathetic connection to the surrounding. Startups rarely, are exhibitions of these intents. It is a collective loss to society when people who could have utilised their talent for better use are reduced to these indulgences and manipulations. It becomes rather acute when we are aware of the desperation that inflicts the society, educated section have a huge responsibility, in the context of things to aim for multiplying money is pathetic if not deeply unethical. It took some bright western technologists to work out gravity as source of renewable energy (GravityLight by UK engineers). This simple, elegant but sturdy device, functions in the poor and remote areas of Bihar. Another startup I came up recently is based in Lagos, Nigeria, where this fellow observed fish skin being wasted, hence worked out converting fish skin into leather products and marketed online, giving employment to women of impoverished fishing community but also converting into affordable product from what was considered waste.

Such innovations are rare from Indians, enmeshed in squatter crude worldview as tradition and attitude. These crudeness are so entrenched and overwhelming that they are in denial, accepting would collapse their well camouflaged world, that is cleverly mimicking western liberalism, and expose their primitive ways. Shocking statistics of Indian deprivation when put in context to civilised world is an eye opener to this entrenched crudeness. When I was out of college and roaming around I got few opportunities to make big money (people were rushing to USA for Y2K issue and making pots of money, i recall going to the gate of the training center with few friends and then decided 'no this not what i am going to do') as also nepotism favoured jobs with good steady income, somehow it didn’t excite me, worst I was interested doing part time jobs (for me it gave lot of time to do nothing, precisely what I wanted) that didn't need any certificates, that seemed like taking me nowhere, incidentally it never did, not the least I wasn’t aiming going anywhere!. Frustrated by my nonchalant attitude one elderly fellow tried to guide me with some Malayalam sayings, the one I recall, “kaat adikimbol morom veeshanum”, winnow when there is a wind. Startups are winnowing in the favourable wind. The wind that is controlled by some smart people, somewhere else, that this society lacks the calibre to initiate or sustain. The best can only function when they migrate, escape is the right word.  

That the society puts premium on these attitudes creates aspirations that are amazingly trivial, hence the mediocre nature of the society. Capitalism seems to have consolidated these attitudes hence these successes are celebrated. Not surprising from a society that has success written all over, indeed considered an epitome of marvellous success (and blessing, ofcourse) when the miserable fellow scrambles through IIT and then sniffs IIM and then drivels through as finance consultants or whatever that fetches (now startups), keeps using all avenues with the single most aim to multiply money. Winnowing in the favourable wind. This unscrupulous fellow is the ideal of Indian success, indeed seen with reverence, a role model. Meanwhile less fortunate are scrambling for job security, a peon post has attracted lakhs of applicants many even holding PhDs. Is it such a surprise that none of the thousands of universities, of this second largest populated country in the world, find mention anywhere near top hundred in the world?

It is not really a providence that I decided not to follow any conventional pattern of jobs, nor was keen on structured education and certificates herein. Though I started with a specific intention of deconstructing education (and did spent few years reading about pedagogical methods, philosophies herein and visiting educational institutions) I never thought this would become so all-encompassing thought and spread so wide.  The reason for DePalan is also not a coincidence. That millions of people are trapped in squatter’s worldview as also market created inane jobs, that keeps them occupied all day (and night too if you are Amazonian!!) and create spurious path to upper mobility and further richness. When you deconstruct these, or read someone at it, it is an amazing feeling. That I kept myself unoccupied most of the time brought me in direct conflict with traditional elite, and their entitled worldview, this head-on with depraved bourgeoisie is no doubt in line with two worlds collapsing in its contradictions, irony . Elite sections have nothing much to do except manipulations, creating perceptions and consolidating power structure and benefits herein, while common people are occupied in their daily dungeon, unaware or most likely incapable to question these bourgeoisie charades. These charades and consumption are placed as liberal values. The elite section is very much assured of their immoral ways as liberal, as much as common people try adhering to moral values as religious favour. What is moral in here is debatable except that it has very strong control mechanism. What is clear is that this tacit connection helps elite section to work out their profligate ways and have control. That I was able to come out of it and look at these functioning as an observer is what makes it amazing for me. It is unlike common people, it is not something that was part of the bargain, that could be manipulated. “Gentleman with independent means” (as my intro reads in this blog) is not something that is in line with where I am placed. It is mocking the entitled and their worldview.  

Targeting Rehman, con couple at work:  Rehman has serious reason to worry, not because of some excited mullah (fatwa mullah should be arrested as immediately as the scoundrel utters the death threat, clearly some find it difficult to functions in democratic ways. Criminals should be punished, right wing threats to rationalist should be dealt severely), but con couple. Instead of worrying about fatwa mullah he should keep track of con couple, they are much dangerous. Rehman has been on a high target list of our con couple. It is not unknown that Crude woman has fatwa mullah in her emergency call list. Anyone connected to bollywood are known to give them wide berth. More these people create noise –ostensibly for Rehman sake, more they are taunting the mullah to make the move. They are furiously branding themselves at Rehman’s expense. ZK explained to me “budiya ko lusaka ke pani wallon ne hakal diya, bola isme trustworthy brand ka dum nahi hai”. Rehman must understand that people support him, he is universally liked, but after con couple hooliganism and ransacking people are embarrassed, hence quiet.
